I to am £1.75 out of pocket, due to this company pay pal wont help either, put it down to experience0

Add me to the list, paid www.easy-unlocking.co.uk £2.49 to unlock a samsung d500, came up on paypal as payment to mobilesolved, heard nothing from them, emailed them, still heard nothing.
Paid via paypal with a tesco credit card so will write to them to see if anything can be done.
There is an address on that site if anyone is interested, but don't think they'll reply even if we did write to them for refund.
Site was updated 24/8/07 which is a couple of days before I was scammed.
May be helpful if you all list the sites that you dealt with as it looks like they're operating under different names and you don't know it's mobile solved until the payment is taken.
N.B I've just sent an email to BBC Watchdog.0 -
UPDATE: Opened up a dispute with paypal via the resolution centre, yesterday, got a refund today, suggest anyone with this problem does the same, but has to be within 20 days (I think) of the payment being taken.0

Yes - me too, but taken for the £2.49 version!
What a plonker - I should have known better!
I've also opened a dispute with PAYPAL and escalated it pronto. Just waiting for a result. Let's just hope that what's good for Zoe2006 is good for me too!
Can't understand why PAYPAL can't cut these peasants off. Why are they are still processing payments - it would appear enough punters have complained to alert them?
Who do you complain to about PAYPAL? Presumably they are regulated?0 -
UPDATE: PAYPAL have refunded my payment!
Looks as if they are taking action pretty quickly; certainly it would seem any derogatory remarks about PAYPAL on this thread aren't justified if you go through their proper channels.
What a relief!:T :T :T0 -
You also have to wonder whether the info gained, such as IMEI, make and model of phone etc are being used abroad, such as for IMEI changing of blocked phones.
The bonus is they also get money out of the unweary public.0 -
Got to admit, I'm a bit worried about the fact that they have my IMEI number, will be getting a new phone in the next couple of months anyway but still, it bothers me that they have these details.
BTW, mobile solved are the ones refunding and VERY quickly it would seem, unless its escalated to a claim paypal don't deal with them at all, they must be worried to respond so quickly and refund without question.
I Urge everyone who's been scammed to push for a refund, it literally takes a couple of minutes to open a dispute in paypal, and it may only be a couple of quid but why should they have it?0 -
I have posted here recently but it hasn't appeared (maybe there's a delay?).
Anyway, just to say I'd just been ripped off by them as well, then discovered this forum.
I opened a complaint (as suggested) in Paypal and sent this:
"I have not received any response from you regarding the phone unlock code requested. Your site states that the information would be instant or could take up to 24 hours. Could you let me know how long it will take or please issue a refund through Paypal. Though you state on the site you will only issue refunds for information that fails to work on the phone, I have not received anything at all. Thank you for you help."
Added in additional information to Paypal (as it appeared seller was not available to comment):
"There is evidence to suggest that this seller may be fradualant, I am not the only person who has been ripped off. Please see additional information at this forum link: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?p=6152193 "
No Joke, Paypal literally have issued a refund in about 4 hours!.... As already suggested, everyone do the same- don't let the seller keep your money!0 -
I've just had same experience with paypal & mobile solved. Why are paypal still offering their services? Anyone got a link for free/cheap unlock provider for Sony Ericsson K800i please?0

Been doing a little digging on these domain names and found out a couple of points you may find interesting....
Firstly, The site I went to was http://www.easy-unlocking.co.uk/ and payed for the £2.49 'deal' (obviously receiving nothing but a automated Paypal receipt).
The address on the site to claim refunds (which they claim, requires sending a print out of your Paypal receipt, including phone IMEI number written on it within 10 days of order) is 24 Great King Street, Edinburgh, EH3 6QN. This address does indeed match the WHOIS site listing entry and the company is called Rg Interactive Limited, UK Limited Company, (Company number: SC325448).
However, this is NOT who bills you on Paypal, that is: unlocking@mobilesolved.co.uk . http://www.mobilesolved.co.uk also have a website... Unlike the first site this claims to only deal with Nokias and hidden away you'll find a list of phones they deal with and this statement
"NOTE: Refunds will not be given to consumers who place orders for handsets which are not on the above list.".
Again, similar terms for refund- using post, but this time not even a postal address is given!... The website also states that they are a London based company (not Scottish address as on other site).. The WHOIS domain information for mobilesolved is even more intriguing. It says they are a UK "non-trading individual" that has opted for their address to be omitted... they are registered with http://www.123-reg.co.uk
I'm pretty sure that the above facts alone would mean they are breaking the terms of their registration by not declaring it as a business use...
The whole thing stinks and the people involved need to be bought to justice... If they really only deal with Nokias' it should be stated clearly on both sites, e.g. sometimes Google will describe easy-unlocking as "Unlock any phone on any network Use any Sim instantly".
Someone has even set up a facebook page dedicated to this company ripoff it's at http://oxford.facebook.com/group.php?gid=19420271792&ref=mf ,I had to sign up to check it out- it's free to create an account. There's not that much on there but I will tell them the link to this forum to add fuel to the fire.
When I payed my money for the phone code, I did so believing that a 'Google sponsored link' was somehow endorsed and said to be reliable by Google... Obviously this isn't the case and should be noted for the future! Feel like a bit of a fool for thinking that now... but we've all been suckered in I guess...
Just wanted to get that lot off my chest. Thanks to the other posters who gave me the inspiration to actually get my money back! Great site :beer:0
