Capquest have bought the debt from another organisation. Is there any further information that you can find out what the debt is from e.g. is it credit card, loan etc.

When you say it has only just appeared on your files, do you mean it is newly registered default dated July 2015, or you have only just noticed it now because you’ve not had to look at your reports recently?

Is the address that is linked in a totally different area or close by? e.g. Say you live in Manchester and the unknown address is in Kent.

Have you ever been married / financially linked to anyone else? Is it possible an ex or family member took out a card/loan in your name without telling you?

Check Experian, Equifax and Callcredit, and complain to each of those about any wrong accounts and addresses. If a simple error that is all you should need.

Will joining cifas prevent these linked addresses appearing in the future?

It could be the same debt that I removed before. That wasn't mine either. I think there is a thread on here from then.

I have never been linked to the address or another financially. The only thing in common is my name.
The address is in another county

I have a credit score of 999 but my application for an M&S credit card was rejected. I believe on the basis of a false linked address on my credit report.

How can i get this address and hopefully the associated debt removed from my file ?

I this likely to be on other credit agency files ?

Will the £10 CIFAS report obtain my information from all credit reference agencies ?

I am on the tenner a month deal with Credit Expert but not sure what to do first apart from join CIFAS.

If you feel information has been recorded incorrectly such as a linked address/associated debt, please let us know as we will be about to investigated and/or query the information that has been provided by your lenders directly with them on your behalf.

As previous responses to this thread have mentioned, yes you may want to contact the other Credit Reference Agencies (CRAs) you have reports with to make sure that information has been recorded correctly.

Thanks James, I sent an email to 'consumer.helpservice@uk.experian.com' before i read your reply here.

Is there anywhere these bogus addresses can be stopped from appearing / reappearing on my credit file ?

Yes, that email address is fine my colleagues will be able to investigate why those linked addresses are appearing on your credit report and look at resolving the issue.

Thanks James, I have received a reply stating that many applications in a month might result in refused credit.

I am aware of know this and have only made one application in 12 months.

What i actually want is a linked address, to which i have no association removed from my credit file.

This is my reference number EXP30736X

Could you check to see what is going on ?

Thank you Neil, Will Capquest have to produce proof of debt if they want the record to remain ?

If I get M&S to review my application in light of the dispute notice, will this count as another credit file search ?
