Pet Supermarket (Medicanimal) Gone Out of Business

This company appears to have gone out of business their website has been down for over a week and they are not responding to e-mails.

The phone number they have quoted on previous promotional e-mail's belongs to MEDICANIMAL a company who are still currently trading.

I placed an order with them on 28th July.
A couple of days later the website disappeared,and phone lines went down.
I bought through PayPal,so raised a dispute straight away.Today I have been able to escalate it to a claim.
I then phoned PayPal and spoke to someone about the issue,and was told pet supermarket have 10 days to respond.They need to provide proof of dispatch,and a tracking number for order....obviously they aren't going to do that,probably won't even respond to PayPal at all.
The person on the phone said if they don't respond,or provide proof of delivery I will be refunded my £42 on the eleventh day automatically.

Hope it is that straight forward.:)

PET SUPERMARKET.co.uk & MEDICANIMAL
Placed order on the 30/7/2015 at just after 4;15pm for pet food on each company.
The next day both the web sites were closed due to maintenance.
Have spent over 2 hours looking on official and non official web sites and have only found one article by a lady called Karen Pickwick from Pet Business World, about the above companies and also a company called PET MEDS - all three are stated to be "in a process of going into administration" by an employee on facebook (taken direct quote from the web page)
Be aware - as the payments were taken upto recently, an order form will be sent via email but will not have company contact details listed (as per my received email from pet supermarket).
WARNING - PAYMENT's MAY STILL BE TAKEN

Just a quick update
MedicAnimal - have tried to live chat them this afternoon (1.07pm 5/8/2015) and the link is down, also, the telephone contact number (02036750780) answer with an automated voice which asks you to enter your extension required before promptly cutting you off.
E-mail sent but as yet no record of it arriving.

Oh, no. I've always found Animeds a great company to deal with and saved hundreds of pounds when I had two dogs with heart problems.


Perhaps they were too cheap, as another company I used before them , was also the cheapest and ceased trading. Both were run by vets.

Animed Direct are still operating - they posted earlier but their post has been removed. Their FB page is still active also.

I ordered on the 27th July expecting delivery on the 4th August. I cant seem to find anything other than the Pet Business World article online information.

I paid by credit card and the amount has been taken from my card so I was going to initiate a claim using the charge back rules which are explained on the MSE site.

I am not covered any other way as no single item on my order was over £100

Real shame if they have gone as pet supermarket were always very reliable and had good customer service and staff

Just received an automated email this morning from MedicAnimal (top 10 tips for owning a pet) I know this is just automated, but it could mean that the company hasn't completely shut down (lets all hope).
No link works from the email - just goes to the maintenance page.
Looking on tinterweb - has been a problem taking money from late July with no delivery.
contact your bank as soon as you can.
mine (co op ) were not that helpful and have asked that I write in

A friend on another forum pointed this out and I'm hoping it was just a website problem.


Posts about 'Animeds' appear to have been altered, (I assume that someone mixed up company names)so some posts now don't make sense.


However, I have been in contact with Animeds who assure me that they have not ceased trading and are not affiliated with any other company. (Their post on here was deleted as it was deemed to be an advert.)
