    It's a nice add-on, but it doesn't save you any money, if it was £120 cash back then it would be a better deal, rather than just a nice extra for someone wanting to buy something from Amazon.

    Is the voucher promotion still live? It isn't mentioned on the EE site anymore.

    Of course it does, just has to be spent at Amazon.

    A word of warning to all you money savers that took out this offer...

    Despite requesting my bank details at the sign-up stage, EE didn't actually set up a Direct Debit on the account. I did this manually only yesterday via the My EE service online.

    I queried this in a web chat with a useless rep who at first told me my Direct debit would go through on the 12th August. After I forced him to check, he said in fact it would be collected on the 11th, but the DD wouldn't be completely set up until the 12th. So after thanking him for being so careless, I logged in to My EE again and paid the due amount by credit card (for some extra Amex points :) ).

    Just be aware that your Direct Debit may not have been set up on account opening and that if you do it later, you may need to put the first payment on a card.

  • Just a word of warning to anyone who has taken up this offer.. I logged in to check my first bill today and it was for £70.99?! After ringing them they told me that as I'm a new customer they add a £50 'deposit' to my first bill to enable me to make premium rate or international calls and he said he would remove it if I wished. Although it's supposedly now too late to change the amount as my direct debit request has already been processed (it will come out on 11th August) so I'm stuck with paying a £71 bill next week even though my sim has only been active for less that 24 hours.

    No, I fully understand the money I dont have to spend at Amazon effectively offsets my EE bill, its you that does not understand.

    It seems to be as an existing customer they would save £36 but as a new customer they would get £120's worth of Amazon vouchers to spend on anything.
    IMO it's the new customers getting the better deal not the existing ones.

    Other than the fact the £120 offer no longer exists...

    So it's only a better deal for people with their own personal time machine.
