Credit card- existing Barclaycard customer - will I get 0%?

Hi
I have a Barclay card account with a limit of £14,000. I paid of £10,000 worth of my £12,000 balance on it around 3 months ago . I now have a balance of £1900. I would like to transfer £9000 balance from my MBNA credit card as my 0% deal is due to finish on 24th Aug. I rang Barclay card up to see if I was eligible for any offer but was told not at the moment. This was in June. I have a special interest rate of 9.9% on my Barclay card , is this excluding me from any 0% offers? I am concerned as when I spoke to Barclaycard and asked the lady this exact question she proceeded to refer my question on to the complaints team which apparently happened because I was unhappy with the fact that I did not qualify for a O% . I was not happy but didn't ask the customer service team to do a soft search which they did and I was declined. I have been a customer of Barclays for a at least 7 yesrs and never missed a payment always moved balances around in time etc....so in addition I am now concerned I will not get a balance transfer offer and will end up with an increased monthly payment from MBNA the majority of which will be interest. Please advise. Thank you.

All you can do is ask, if they won't offer a deal there's little you can do.
Have you any other cards you could look for deals on, it may be worth applying for another card in the hope you might get offered a deal.0 -
Barclaycard offers me a new deal every month.
I ran out of cash when I was in the Philippines recently, so transferred £1,600 to my current account at 0%.
The following month they made me a similar offer, so they do offer them to customers who are carrying a balance.0 -
Hi
Just rung Barclay card up they are offering me 6.9% for life for any new balances. 9.9 % for existing 1800 balance. Is this a good deal? Monthly payment will be £250-300 with about £70 interest. Thoughts appreciated .0 -
Are you in a position to potentially pay off the £1900 if you had to?
If so, go on the phone and explain you want to cancel the card. When they put you through to the cancellations and ask you why, explain about being a long standing customer etc etc, and just wanted a 0% deal for a few months etc. I reckon they'll stick it on straight away - worked me just yesterday for 12 months.

What will your MBNA card rise to when your 0% offer expires with them?
If it is more than 6.9% then it will be worth it.
As an additional thought, MBNA may offer you a 0% deal once the debt is moved from them so it may only be on your Barclaycard for a short time. Although you will pay BT fees to move to Barclaycard and then more to move back I would think it would be less than ongoing interest on both cards. (obviously there is no guarantee this would happen but it could) - it's just a thought

Thank you for your helpful comments. My interest on MBNA would be 20%0
