Hmm, maybe I'm too hard on myself! For me a spend is anything other than a DDLBM.....sometime in 2013 £27,056. 10 creditors
June 20.....£7,587.....3 creditors left 72% paid
£26,200 on interest only part of mortgage (July 16)...will chip away £17,103
£49,200 repayment mortgage ( July 16) £37,7640 -
Hmm, maybe I'm too hard on myself! For me a spend is anything other than a DD
Well,I have a huge problem with impulse shopping, though I'm 98% better than what I once was.Stopping window shopping, only going out with cash and avoiding the town centre have all helped me to spend less and avoid temptation.
Since my LBM in 2009 I divide my money into budgets and,for the most part, manage to stay within them.I'm talking about over thirty individuals budgets, from the leccy bill, presents, holidays and new mattress fund to my support stockings and printer cartridge fund.
DDs,rent, addditional pension payments and all other bills are essential spends IMH and don't count.
It's not as if I don't have to spend this money. The money for all these essential spends is budgeted for anyway. These are the first things that get sorted once I'm paid.Do you see what I mean?
I have a weekly grocery budget, which is cash in hand. You can't not eat,so why include it as a spend? It's not as if you have a choice after all.As long as I don't go over budget,it's ok.
Then there's other essential spends that I don't count: prescriptions, daily travelling (I've got a yearly travel card so the spend is counted once in the year when I renew it),swimming (again yearly subscription) and something else, but I can't remember what it is.
It's what you're happy with that's important. The rules are up to you and it's flexible too. What's not to love? :money:
So have a think about it.As long as you're happy with your rules,it's allowed.0 -

Note to self:must be on best behaviour and remember to buy toilet roll,as scotmum has used it all up again.I think it was one too much of Igors pilchard cocktails
Here I am fashionably late with NSD #1 yesterday.
Not a NSD today as DH and I went for a wee trip and had a cup of tea and a scone in a nice cafe in Culross.
I am on best behavior this month so am hoping to smash my targets
Welcome to all the Newbies :hello: BE afraid, Be very afraid , but only of Igors cocktails :rotfl:Debt free as of 29.10.2020 🎉😁
