Her toys aren't 5 years old though the 2 large playsets cost over £60 and were bought for Xmas and her birthday, she has since saved pocket money and bought accessories to go with both which are useless with out the playsets. I could not live with myself if I ignored the warning and something happened to her or another child playing with them. If you read the other thread on warnings or the actual statement from mattel the magnets can cause severe internal damage if swallowed and they are withdrawing them because of cases where children have been injured.

I would suggest you get your facts straight before judging people by your standards but it seems typical of your judgemental posts.

in the long i think better safe than sorry, a very small number of children have been injured and its mattel fault i will be sending all mine back because as floflo says i would never forgive myself if something happened.
and i do disagree with people comparing these injurys to those aquired while using heelys/trampolines theres is a risk factor with these products and if you child falls on her heelys its not the companys fault, while the polly situation would be due to the company's neglagence

Thank you for contacting us regarding our voluntary recall notice on the magnetic Polly Pockets. We are very sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Please could you call us on 01628 500303 with the items in front of you so we can record the product numbers and arrange for the items to be returned back to us. Of course, we will be happy to offer you alternative products.

Im only sending my daughters back, as daughter number 2 is 8 months old, at almost 5 my elder daughter does know not to put things in mouth etc. If it wasnt for the baby we would keep the sets we have.

if you bought the polly pocket things at woolworths and still have the reciept then you can get a refund there. You must have the receipt though.

I just got the list of toys you can choose from today. It is huge and much more varied than I expected. My daughter just chose the Dora kitchen for £79!! I just phoned them up to confirm this is ok and they said we could choose any toy. Am actually really impressed as am returning a jewellery set that cost about £10.
:T Benjamin has won!!! Am soooo proud. Thank you to everyone who agreed my baby was the cutiest. Want to go round and hug everyone who voted, it means so much to me!:A

Boots are now refunding the whole value onto a gift card if you don't have a receipt. It comes up as recalled item, even if you paid sale price it goes through as full price!

With the lead paint it's certain numbers but with the magnet scare its all polly pocket made since 2002!

Not all Polly Pocket toys are affected.

I bought a Polly Pocket set (the car wash toy) in the Boots sale a couple of weeks ago & when I rang the Mattel helpline I was told that the item I had bought definitely was not one of the recalled toys.

I spoke to my 9 year old DD who loves her polly's. She has decided to keep them all :)
  • I took my pp snow hotel (or at least the parts I could find) to Sainsburys. I had no receipt. They gave me £25 cash immediately.
