Polly Pocket /Barbie Tanner Toys in RECALL!!

Aswell of the toys that fisherprice/mattel have recalled for lead paint there are lots of polly pocket toys / Barbie & Tanner recalled due to magnet problems.

DD has several polly pocket playsets & accessories recalled. I bought them from Boots full price!! I have emailed Mattel and am waiting for their response.

Do Boots have a responsibility to refund?
How would I prove purchase price - not sure I've still got receipts?
Some of her accessories were not recalled but are useless without the playsets?

Over £100 - £150 of stuff no good.

When Fisher Price had a Recall on their Laugh & Learn Bunny, I was instrusted to take it back to Boots and they refunded cash even though I no longer had the receipt. And I emailed Fisher Price about it too and they sent my DD a replacement toy free of charge. HTH

Boots have told me to take them back, I said how will they know the price I paid and he said they can check with him for price history no problem. So I'm off to Boots - just hope I can get DD something she likes as much.

I contacted Mattel by phone and they're sending a pre paid label for me to return 2 sets to them (one set only has one dog left of it!) They are aware the sets are incomplete and will be replacing them with other Polly Pocket goods for £40! Thought this was excellent service. I think each set differs in what you will receive. You can ask for any of Mattel products and you dont have to have the same range.

Boots were rubbish instore dispite phoning and being told to take them in, once instore staff were very unhelpful and said that even though the products were on the mattel website as being recalled they hadn't been told to refund certain products. The sets I have were the Clik house of style £34.99 , the Snow cool hotel which was £29.99 and at least 2/3 sets of accessories that ranged from £7.99 - £12.99 each.

All I need to do now then is actually get through to the place! Have been calling every half hour - an hour for the past 2 days but its just engaged! I am calling the 01628 number anyone know of a different line atall???

Thank you for contacting us regarding our recent voluntary recall notice.

Thanks for providing us with this information. Your details have been logged and a pre paid envelope will be sent out to you for the return of the original toys. We will also send you a list of replacement toys. Please make a note of which replacement toys you would like and return this with the affected toys. Once we have received the list we will have the replacements sent out to you as soon as possible. We appreciate it is not always easy to keep hold of all the bits to these sets, please return the main play set and as many of the pieces as possible.

Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused you and any upset this may bring to your children as we understand it is not easy giving up your favourite toys. If you have any further queries regarding the recall please do not hesitate to contact us and we will endeavour to help you quickly and efficiently.

i got the list of toys for the replacments through today and there is nothing my daughter wants shes either got it or doesn't want it and i've got £100 to spend as the value of the toys that were sent back

I bought a Pollyworld Rockin Theme Park from Toys R Us only a few weeks ago to put away for my daughters christmas. This is on the list and I have emailed Mattel. I only checked it after reading these posts. Although I heard about these recalls about a month ago I assumed anything unsafe would be removed from the shelves so therefore thought when I bought this that it would be safe. Does anyone know if its certain serial numbers which are unsafe or is it everything of a particular product?

I think its anything on the list - a problem with the magnets.

With the lead paint it's certain numbers but with the magnet scare its all polly pocket made since 2002!
