It made perfect sense crunchy, if it wasn't for my grandparents being too ill to fly long haul and being desperately important to have there, we would go and get married on a beach - one thing we both agree on. I do think the actual wedding is a big part of his worry - he's not a centre of attention type person, not that I am but the important people would have to be there
.
I think my Grandparents have instilled their traditional-ness in me, it's important to me to have that commitment but more important is that we are both 100% there for donut. There are times when it really niggles at me and I feel he is being very selfish and not taking my feelings into account, but most of the time I'm fine with it - we are happy, we love our house and each other so I'm content. It would just be a very lovely bonus if he wanted to make that commitment.
I think once donut is here and the whole surname question is actually real, he will be more inclined, it's all still very abstract for him at the moment, which I'm sure is normal - it's me getting the boob growth, tummy bloating and sickness, he's just watching on with amusement when I can't get my jeans done up :rotfl:
I can't wait to get away from work, but my mind is concentrated solely on Mondays scan - once that is done, I will be packing and getting generally overexcited :rotfl: I can't wait to see his parents, I'm way more excited about that than OH :rotfl:
I bet you can't wait to get moved in to your new place - it won't be long now! x:j PAID VERY, Barclaycard x3, Vanquis, Natwest, O/D, Tesco & MBNA x2 PAID :j LBM 24/07/15 - Original Debt: £0/31010.23 (100% paid)

Exciting stuff to come, scan on Monday and NZ in a few weeks time and so close to becoming clear of debt.
I know you are on top of all this stuff KP but I told my daughter when she was expecting her first baby try and live off the income you will get on maternity leave and save the rest as a cushion in the six months or so until you go off. That way you know you wont have to resort to debt to get you through the months of reduced income.
Re your OH and proposals if he is anything like my DH he will not take kindly to being told when to propose by either you, parents or grandparents so I would try and relax and focus on your new baby. My husband and I were together almost four years before he proposed and I had almost given up on him asking and quietly resolved if after 5 years we were not moving forward then I would have to think about whether I could still see my future with him. Bear in mind we had no house together or baby at that time and were still in early twenties so looking back now I cannot believe I was in such a rush. One New Years Eve he proposed with a ring already bought. We were living together in 3 months time and married in 6 months. Things can move quickly all of a sudden and all that matters is you are all happy and healthy.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. Thanks ES! I've got quite a thorough budget for mat leave, and I've built up quite a nice savings fund for mat leave and baby so we are focusing on adding to savings and making mortgage OPs at the moment
You talk a lot of sense about the marriage thing. OH and I are very different people, and I know we will get there in the end, he just needs a bit more time than me I suppose. If we were to get engaged before donut arrives, I might rethink the surname but as it is that's one thing I'm set on if he is not willing to get married, I'm not willing to compromise on the last name.:j PAID VERY, Barclaycard x3, Vanquis, Natwest, O/D, Tesco & MBNA x2 PAID :j LBM 24/07/15 - Original Debt: £0/31010.23 (100% paid)

You'll have to let me know the secret to changing his mind then abba :rotfl:
Payday yesterday wasn't as exciting as normal with my sicktime, it's so stressful trying to add to savings and then having to take it back out to balance the budget with my reduced income.
We have managed to stay under budget on a few categories last month so made another mortgage OP this morning of £45, I'm definitely closer to being on trackstill need to make an extra £75 OP this month to make my target of £2000 by mortgage anniversary but we will get there. Going to list some more items on the bay and hopefully that will help
Going to a baby show in Manchester tomorrow, it was going to be me, OH, my mom and my Nan but there is now talk of my Dad and Grandad coming too. Much to my grandads disgust - in his words, I love you K but I'm not doing that :rotfl: he can find a man shop (his code for pub) I'm sure :rotfl: I've made a list of what I want to check prices on, and the best price I can find everything for at the moment so I don't get carried away and make sure I get a bargain if I do buy anything:j PAID VERY, Barclaycard x3, Vanquis, Natwest, O/D, Tesco & MBNA x2 PAID :j LBM 24/07/15 - Original Debt: £0/31010.23 (100% paid)

I don't know what happened tbh after dating for 6 weeks he surprised me with a proposal I just looked at him like he was crazy but I somehow found my self saying yes  then 5 months are dating we found out we were expecting Kk to say it was a whirlwind isn't a lie and 5 years down the line we are still extremely happy xxNEXT TARGET: Halifax credit card DEC 22 £0 / £4499.12POAMAYC 2011 £6378.35 POAMAYC 2012 £5000.78POAMAYC 2013 £3480.04 POAMAYC 2014 £4085.14POAMAYC 2015 £7565.24 POAMAYC 2016 £8000.90 POAMAYC 2017 £7278.80 POAMAYC 2018 £13208.18POAMAYC 2019 £13309.28 POAMAYC 2020 £15026.050

I guess it's true when they say that when you know, you know! x:j PAID VERY, Barclaycard x3, Vanquis, Natwest, O/D, Tesco & MBNA x2 PAID :j LBM 24/07/15 - Original Debt: £0/31010.23 (100% paid)

Had a productive time at the baby and toddler show yesterday, made a saving of over £100 by haggling and show offers....still meant I spent almost £400 though  That includes (half the total cost!) a rather expensive double breast pump that I know from my time in midwifery is extremely good and was the one I knew I would be going for, so I'm happy to have saved £45 on it. Which then paid for a moses basket and rocking stand with breastfeeding pillow and a couple of sets of moses basket sheets.
Made a good start anyway
It's my 13 week scan tomorrow so I'm excited and anxious about that, and using my doppler regularly!!
I've made a couple more OPs to mortgage/OHs CC this week but with babyb spends starting (I want to be able to spread the cost so I'm adding a pack of nappies or wipes to fortnightly shops) I'm not sure OPs will be able to continue in the way I'd like. I will still without doubt be able to hit the mortgage OP target so I will concentrate on that:j PAID VERY, Barclaycard x3, Vanquis, Natwest, O/D, Tesco & MBNA x2 PAID :j LBM 24/07/15 - Original Debt: £0/31010.23 (100% paid)

I went for my 12 week scan yesterday which was actually nearer 14 weeks but it was amazing to see donut looking like an actual baby instead of an ant or a beetle like at the last 2 scans.
Unfortunately I wasn't as well as donut and I'm back in hospital. Severely dehydrated and my body has gone into starvation because I haven't kept food down for a few days.
A few bags of fluid later but no improvement so I'm in for at least 2 nights until everything is under control. Great timing with our NZ trip coming up shortly but hopefully this will get me sorted for good!:j PAID VERY, Barclaycard x3, Vanquis, Natwest, O/D, Tesco & MBNA x2 PAID :j LBM 24/07/15 - Original Debt: £0/31010.23 (100% paid)
