I have been over 60 for a while now and I make good use of my ancientofdays bus pass, which also gives me free rail travel in our region, and my senior railcard, am on my third of these now. Because when I qualified, I thought I might try it out for one year to see if I made enough use of it before investing in a three year jobbie. My employer has to reimburse a lot less for my travel!
I get free prescriptions and I think I have used this once.
Free eye test is good, must book this in, and the winter fuel allowance is a treat.
I am not claiming state pension yet because I still work. So when I do, unless the rules change, the weekly payment will be a little higher (or you are able to choose to take a lump sum).
I do creak a bit, am not as fleet of foot as once long ago, but ho hum, I can still carry on providing for my family. So, although there have been some rocky times recently, I am probably pretty fortunate. And I have reduced my hours at work and this should give me a little more time to mess about doing things for pleasure but not quite yet as I have been engages in additional, fee paid work.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
Boots Advantage card which gives 4 points for a pound spend also gives over 60s 10 points a pound on Boots branded products.
If you already have a card I think they will write to you with an extra card to set it up next time you use your card.0
