I thought of another one! He is learning Irish on Duolingo, I have tried but not as committed as he is to it, but if I can manage to text something in Irish to him he appreciates it (and then corrects me :rotfl:).

Having a pig of a week with work and he took on the jobs I normally do such as the food shop - he offered I didn't have to ask. Also after one late night at work I came home to a bath run for me.

I suppose I dont see these as him telling me that he loves me per se but more that he understands and supports me in my career too.

Oh and not having a beer on a Friday after work so he could come and pick me up after a post work do rather than me having to get the train.
  • I lived near the place where me and my OH work, so when he's worked Saturdays that I haven't I've met him at the train station in the afternoon with tea and chocolate for him to have on the journey home (we don't live together).

He buys me daffodils when they're in season, and we both send each other links to funny things we've seen online that we know the other will like.

The Offspring are now older so, while I'm at Nan's house, I look through her telly book & make a note of anything they might be interested in seeing. They like stuff I don't & while they watch it, I'll go into another room & read so I'm not tempted to keep asking who's who or what's what :D

The one who doesn't drive is, of course, the one with BFFs living in the Back of Beyond & the rest of us share the chauffeuring responsibilities--one takes, another collects--plus I'm not bothered about drinking alcohol so pretty much the family's designated driver if they have a big night out, but they'll nip to the supermarket etc for me (particularly handy with a poorly granny to care for :/ )

If I remember, I leave the toilet seat down.

It always amazes me when the subject of the positioning of toilet seats arises.
Why do we never hear about women leaving the toilet seat UP for their man?
Why the assumption that down is the "correct" position?
Wouldn't you think that it was in the interests of the female occupants of the household to leave the seat up - given their predisposition to complain about "spillage" on the seat by men!

Today I am trying to paint the bedroom. I am so short that even with a ladder (can't go further than two steps) I can't reach certain bits. OH offered to do all those bits for me. He also emptied out the room and hoovered it before I started. Didn't have to ask, he just did it. Doesn't seem much, but these little acts of kindness just make you feel loved. It doesn't always have to be about flowers etc, although they are always nice to receive!

I agree to an extent, my mum used to go mad when my dad left the seat up, which I found unreasonable. But then, men sometimes have to sit down too, don't they?! So I think it's default position should be down on that basis ;)
