  • You have to buy credit specifically for Vyke, however I am using the Vyke Pro and the bonus credit I was given when I joined is not going down at all :-)

    Cityslicker,

Where did you get this information about Tmobile data charges? I hope this will not affect me as an existing customer, I think that would be the icing on the cake of just about the biggest mobile mistake I have ever made which was switching to t-mobile from o2 contract!

To those that asked about o2 PAYG, I cannot access Vyke on my SIM. The SIM arrived 2 weeks ago, so I'm assuming its a "new generation" 3G SIM. It will download but Vyke Pro will not connect properly (even if it says online at the top). Vyke Lite works perfectly however. I have tried o2 PAYG in two handsets, a SE W810i which was an o2 contract phone originally. I then tried it in my new phone, the W580i (on which Vyke is working currently with t-mobile). I downloaded the relevant o2 GPRS settings and it does not work in this phone either.
  • I think the t-mobile data changes apply to Pay as you go only. Details found at the bottom of the page here.

I have been trying smsbug, testing it with the free credits supplied. Works fine.

Today I bought 100 credits online by Visa, got the email receipt, the payment shows in my payment record - BUT, over 2 hours later, the available credits remains at a minus and texts are refused. The website boasts real time updating.

Emailed support, now almost 2 hours ago, no response. Anyone else had a problem. Is smsbug a ripoff outfit?

It says on their website that it can take up to 24 hours for your credits to appear, it did with me when I paid by paypal.

  • Those free texts on O2? I have trawled the website and see nothing about texts....never mind free texts. I am not an O2 customer but how do some people ever manage to find the info as it is just a maze? Please advise with specific info. Phone is Sony Ericsson 700i . Many thanks.

On the credit card payment page it does say:
"Your credits will be loaded immediately, and you can continue messaging the world" - so I'm confused!
Still no credits or reply from support though.

On the home page, left side near the top, there is a light blue area; just below this in the dark blue Communicate is the option Send Text Messages. You need to register for an account, and yes it is possible to do so with a phone number from a different UK network. One logged in, the webform is fairly straightforward to use

Just downloaded it [Vkye] on 02 network on a SE k800i phone. Went to send a txt message to myself to check if it worked and it seemed to take forever at the sending stage. I cancelled it after a couple of minutes.

same thing happens to me, i'm on 02 contract with an SE k800i too.

i tried sending to both the orange network and the virgin mobile one.
just took ages so i cancelled sending in the end.

i'm going to try smsbug instead, as i only really need software for international texts anyway. is it reliable? and does it really work out at 3 eurocents a text?
