big spends yesterday of £52.00, though in my defense I did get lots of meat bargains! so got to be good for next few days and keep away from the supermarkets.

    Hi everyone!

Had about six weeks off from posting on here, as the end of the summer term hits me hard when I'm in year 6!! Just about recovered, and really happy about my grocery spending atm...

Since the beginning of April, I have averaged £102.?? Per month! So happy with that. So far this month, spent £19.47, didn't coubt holiday food, as oh bought most, and I only bought the treaty things!

My budget is always £100/month, but sometimes I'm under, sometimes I'm over. I'm ok with that. There are three of us - me, dd(10) and ds(almost9), and I feed oh about 6-8 times a month too. The ch go to their dad's for about 8 meals per month, and four pack ups. We have inexpensive tastes, I freeze everything I can, and I loathe food waste. I do lots of ys shopping, but now need to work on using stuff from the freezer! Thing is, 160ish grams of mince will do the three of us for a spag bol, with enough left over for me to have for lunch too!! Have bought very little meat recently - just no need!

Spag bol for dinner tonight, the the children are away for the next eight days, on holiday with their dad, so just me to feed. I'm planning on eating all of the random stuf I have, both in the freezer and the pantry!!

Grocery challenge for family of three - me, dd(12) and ds(11), feeding dp 2 or 3 x a week too. Only food, not toiletries. Jan £87.97/£100 Feb £0/£100

Spent £24.50 today across Mr T; B*M & Icel*nd. Total for month so far £123.52/£250 so looking to be on budget as just under half the budget gone and just under half the month too.

Need to have a few NSDs now but shouldn't need any more shopping for a few days at least.

    No spends today. Ate:

Breakfast - banana, chocolate and oat milkshake again lol
Lunch - leftover lentil lasagne and tomato slices
Snacks - an apple and an apple muffin
Dinner - baked potato with beans and cheese, plus grated courgette salad (no salad left!). DH had tuna mayo instead of beans (he also had totally different breakfasts and lunches)

Why are any of us even worrying about what we spend on groceries when we can so easily make £10k by investing just £6 ;)

We spent £54.44 today (plus a little bit on household stuff that comes out of a different budget). But we got quite a lot of YS meat - probably about 28 portions, and a lot of bulk things that we now won't have to buy for probably a whole year, plus some treats for the cat and chickens.

So I'm on £81.62/£150 and now even half way through the month. Eeek!

  • Hi Everyone,
I keep dipping in and out but tend to lurk looking at people's ideas. Am desperate to save money and need all the help I can get. Foodwise can be difficult as DD1 is vegetatian ad DD2 is coelic and dairy free. Went to waitrose to buy goats milk £1.60 for 1l, whilst there they had cake packets reduced half price £1.25 each. Popped into Iceland and bought McCains oven chips £1.50 (DD2 able to have these too!) and picked a chip tray free (worth £5). Next, off to Aldi to buy the super six. Have just come back from hoildays to find the electric had tripped and all my food in the freezer ruined - not happy bunny.
