Would you like it if they retaliated, defending themselves? These people are trying to help you and you are assaulting them. I too like many am often frustrated but have never hit anyone...what makes you think you are special and can?
You're talking like you expect someone with mental health problems to act as most people would, but it doesn't work out like that. You naively believe by being an armchair psychiatrist is going to do any good or just makes you feel better for criticising. Believe me, it doesn't and won't do any good. If you want to help spend a few years learning about various aspects of psychology, work for a few years with paranoid schizophrenics, a few more years with neurotics, more years with OCDs and then you may have a bit more understanding of the underlying problems.“Learn from the mistakes of others. You can never live long enough to make them all yourself.”

OP, do you have a care plan, a social worker or any support at all? Is there a local mental health team you could talk to? As you know your behaviour is letting you down from getting more support but I can't understand why a professional hasn't tackled that problem with you. Is there a mental health drop in centre close by like those run by Sane? http://www.sane.org.uk/resources/contact_us“Learn from the mistakes of others. Maybe trying to get a point across for over a month with over 50 attempts then you see what frustration really is.0 -
You try feeling completely frustrated.

So what would you do at work, or in a community setting, if someone did not agree with your viewpoint? You cannot use your health problems, or feeling frustrated, as an excuse to assault people or damage property.0 -

Have you ever wanted to hit someone? What was it that stopped you? Genuine question.
I have and the only thing that prevented me from doing so was two things; the ability to calm myself down and the presence of mind to realise the outcome of the possible consequences.
Did you know 1 in 4 people in the UK EVERY YEAR experience some form of mental health issue? Did you know that? You could be next. What would you do if that happened? Genuine question.0 -

grow up....Even a stopped clock tells the right time twice a day, and for once I'm inclined to believe Withnail is right. We are indeed drifting into the arena of the unwell.0 -

im sorry but you just dont understand.
having a daughter with autism with challenging/aggressive behaviour and also working with adults with autism who have severely challenging behaviour and who have astaff to client ratio of 2:1 24/7,it is not that simple.they may understand they are hitting because they are frustrated, but a lot of people with autism do not understand social norms, behaviour, how to interact appropriately, its no good 'telling them'-their brain is 'wired' differently, they may not understand their behaviour has an effect on others they may not even have any awareness of others emotions at all.others may have trouble modulating their emotions and may go from excitable happyness one minute to uncontrollable rage the next
it is such a complex condition which is not really fully understood yet, therfore when i see comments like this it just highlights even more how much more awareness there needs to be.
