Problem is staff also have legal rights. So does the landlord.0

As for commuting costs how do you think the rest of the working population do it? Because we don't get bus passes or use it as an excuse to not work.
You would presumably take a wage if you got a job and then possibly qualify for tax credits also.0 -

I would be limited to £24.90 no matter how many hours i work.
o i could be working 40 hours for £24.90 take away about £20 per week transport would be £4.90.
So in a full time (40 hours per week) job after transportation i would be working for £0.1225/hour0 -
Anyone? bump0

At the moment i am in residential care and was promised i would be able to move in supported living when this place was to be re-registered as such but the management keep on trying to call me not capable of supported living and social services seam to be backing them up even tho that would be taking my legal rights away.
No offence but, given some of the difficulties that ASD can bring, you may not have a correct understanding of what was 'promised' if indeed any promise was made (which I would expect to be unlikely). There may have been an agreement to reassess your needs at the time, a suggestion that improvement in behaviour could see a move to supported living, but not an actual promise.
Social Services don't think you are capable of supported living just now. Are you disagreeing with their judgement? Have you talked to them about this?
Don't worry about lowering the cost for the tax-payer. The tax-payer can keep you in whichever type of accommodation is best for your needs. As a tax-payer, I thank you for considering me; but seriously, worry more about living in the right accommodation to suit your professionally assessed needs.:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

For anyone not familiar with residential care funding, the £24.90 is the personal expenses allowance for clothes, toiletries etc. As food, utilities etc are included in the residential payments, the rules say this is all people need to cover other sundries. As income support tends to be part of how the residential care is funded, anything anyone does earn over and above is taken into account as earnings and the IS reduced accordingly.
OP, do you qualify for DLA mobility as you could keep this over and above the personal allowance?
Have you looked into permitted work/therapeutic earnings? Having said that, I can't see many people wanting to take on someone who hits colleagues when they get frustrated.
I agree with other posters - if your assessments showed you could manage supported living, you'd be there like a shot as residential tends to be far more expensive. However if you disagree with the assessments (which you should have been given a copy of), there is always the complaints procedure if you feel you are being treated unfairly. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
