Glad you had a good birthday, you didn't need to confess you bought yourself an beautiful sounding ring! You deserve it and work so hard! Sometimes we just need to buy ourselves things we desire, plus you saved £20 really! Hope you had a fab weekend!

Thank you everyone for your lovely posts. I was spending so much time trying to sort my house that I didn't come on here much so it's been so nice coming back and seeing you all.

I have a huge update and a few more confessions to make, so I'll get that updated as soon as I lose my fear of YNAB!!!! :o

Although, my bank account is still looking oddly healthy so maybe I should take a breath and make my updates!!!

I have finally looked at my finances and can see why my bank account isn't looking too bad!!!! It's because I put everything on one of my credit cards to the point that it's now over the limit. Fortunately I reduced the limit a few months ago, so the damage is repairable, but....

It was all on jewellery!!!! :o Because I didn't log onto YNAB each day I "kept" spending the commute money I saved and the food money for always eating at home. I must have spent that about 6 times over!!!

It was all vintage jewellery, and I definitely don't need any more.

So, I'm going to pay that card off and hide it! My commute money automatically comes off that card as I get cashback, but that's it. I can't be trusted with carrying it around, even just for groceries (cashback again). I'm also going to delete the card details I have online for places like Amazon. I'll just have to type in the details each time I order something to give me some time to think.

    Onwards and upwards.....

    Eek!

Hope you found it before any charges. Though I suspect the jewellery is worth it anyway as you said you'd been looking at it for ages!

Whatever did we do without YNAB?:rotfl:
