Yesterday was a pretty hectic day. I did the radio show I was sitting in for and then came straight home so no money spent. It's so good that I get free parking otherwise this would be not be affordable. I've now been asked if I'll interview once famous or up and coming people who are happy to be interviewed at the station. So that's quite exciting, although I know it doesn't happen too often as it's only occurred once since I've been there.

I definitely have a new joiner this Friday so I'll need to call him this week and see what he'd like to be doing after his few sessions before. As I'll have 2 newbies in the show with me, I'm trying to figure out how best to juggle them so they both feel they've had a good show.

Today I did some food shopping and that's it. It came to £33.75 and did include a bit of stationery which is my weak spot (I know!!!!) ! But I now have a new 2015/2016 page a day academic year diary for the princely sum of £2, so I'm not judging myself too harshly. The rest was some beautiful paper folders for 25p (they hold paper, they're not made of paper). The rest was food and drink that was needed other than the 4 packs of chocolate for £1 each! Absolutely bought their price, not the product!

So now I've decided to go through YNAB and organise it a little better. It had stopped synching again, but when I opened Dropbox to have a look, it started pinging up alerts about updates to me, so I was very happy that I just needed to wake Dropbox from its slumber!

I have a busy week at work next week. Someone has just emailed me asking where I am on a large project I committed to and then promptly forgot about!!!! So I'd better find my notes, update myself and get on it pretty sharply! Plus it's going to be a busy week generally, so need to focus!

I've also decided that, although it's very early days with Mr 3TL, we have known each other for over 30 years and so, I need to write a back up plan for the path(s) I want to be on if he sticks around. At the moment my plans are very singular and he's started to pick up on that and sounds a bit hurt, so we had a chat last night about, if all goes well, what does he see in his future and we have very similar mindsets. So, with our discussions in mind I'd like to create a parallel path to my own single path so that, whatever happens, I'm going in a direction I want to be in - and so is he. He's very happy for me to do that too, so I'm not trying to control his future here.

The weather has been all over the place today. Have we regressed to April without anyone telling me? Sunshine and showers on and off all day feels very much Spring like!

Monday is done and dusted for another week. I hope you've all had a fantastic day!!!!

Housekeeping done on YNAB and all totals are correct as of today so signature has also been updated.

Next is the parallel path making! See you on the other side! First, an update of others diaries.

It's Wednesday already! Midweek! Hump Day! Just got to do all of this one more time until the weekend!

Financially, not a great deal to report. I did forget my purse yesterday so had to get some food on an unused credit card I keep in my bag for emergencies. I went to a really cheap shop too, so only cost £2.64 for a nice enough lunch. I need to go online and pay that off as soon as it shows up on the card.

I'm feeling so tired this week. I even slept through my alarm this morning! I think another early night is required tonight!

Right, I owe, I owe so it's off to work I go! Have a great hump day all.

Ha ha! Oh Sam, I wish that were the reason. Life has felt a little overwhelming this week, and my body has just gone into hibernation mode! After today things should look brighter and I'm seeing Mr 3TL tonight too so life is definitely looking brighter !!!! :D

When I first started at the radio I bought a cheap pair of headphones which I think are really for gaming rather than music! But they were on sale and a great bargain and I promised myself I'd replace them if I knew I was staying there!

So, today I've bought a new set of music headphones and a better aux adaptor (for 49p, so that's the least of my worries). :o

From my parallel plan, I've also, today, bought a training guide that gets amazing reviews (and is valid on whichever path my life takes me) and has lots of templates and paperwork that I will need. It costs £47.50, which is a lot of money, and I could probably find every morsal of info and every template somewhere online, but I'm happy to pay the money to have this full resource in one place. :o

It's also shown me that what I want to do isn't a widely written subject, so I shall start a blog on it so that I can track my progress and help others who are thinking the same way as I am. :)

Now, to help pay for these I'm considering cycling on my commute again (she says after reading we're in for the coldest winter in 50 years when it snowed for 4 months solid!!!). My daily commute currently costs £11.60 if I travel at peak time for the 3 days I work. If I cycle to the station, and get off in London a stop earlier, then my commute price will fall to around £4 a day. So Mr 3TL and I are going to go out for a bike ride on Saturday, probably even if the weather doesn't permit! I used to cycle the full journey both ways when I worked full time, so it's not a new concept for me.

I think I'd best close all of my online accounts and hide my cards now though!

I set up my second show playlist yesterday, so should save myself a lot of time preparing tomorrow. I quite fancy creating a tentative link between each song so that I can come up with a nice bit of talk between the last song and next song.

I'm letting my current trainee go on the desk tomorrow and talk, so effectively he'll be running the show, and I'm so nervous. Not in a negative way, unless he swears on air we can repair any mistakes, but just that it's a big step forward and I want it to go well.

Right, happy Thursday everyone! I'd better get some work done now! :D

  • Bike plan sounds like a good one MT, maybe invest in some thermals incase the winter prediction is correct!

That said, I always take the weather with a pinch of salt, we were predicted a scorching summer, I don't think we had more than 2 weeks true 'summer' days!

Your training guide sounds good - I love things like that. I'm currently trying to create my own guide for my over time shifts. We deal with such a broad range of cases, benefits(which is a minefield on its own!), debts, anti social behaviour, charity referral and our information / forms are all over the place. So I am going to bring in one of my own folders to work and build a 'go to bible'.

Im not sure why, but saving all the random emails I get doesn't seem to work as they are so different I loose them, and I have too many emails so the search takes so long I end up spending just as much time looking for old information as it took me to find in the first place..

  • All sounding good MT :T

The right training info for you is priceless, as it will both up your motivation and save you time and effort finding the info elsewhere. So sounds like a sensible spend to me - I hope you love it when it arrives.

Cycling part way sounds like a lovely balanced solution too.

  • That's a really clever way to save around £100 a month- my math is rubbish but I think that's about right ..lol

I'd be tempted to even consider one week on one week off .....

Training plan sounds great so agree with Rosa who cares about cost when it has a positive impact on your life and well being :) Health over wealth I say :)
