Update, OK so I need to update SIG when I can be bothered and get the numbers out, OH gets paid soon. I've been meaning to send off my uniform rebate for ages, colleague had all the details so made it easier for me. Waiting for cheque, not expecting too much though. Also had a win on the lottery, I decreased what I spend on there so about £10 a month won about 150 so will treat myself op a tiny bit and add to my other pots for house safe net and furnature. It sounds silly but I don't like leaving one pot out and putting a bigger amount in one. Hehe we all have our crazy ways to get the job done. Got a bit of a pay rise at work, won't see much difference as it knackers me out now and don't pick up as many shifts but will all help.Target roughly 75% LTV before Feb/March 2021 (20% LTV = £40,999) - OP'd so far 763.51 out of 5 yr goal - £40,235.49 to go!:rotfl:0

Hi Monie.
Congratulations on your LBM and starting to OP your mortgage.
I have just been lurking on this section of the board but thought I could maybe offer some advice. If you can avoid the machines then please do so as they take a percentage of your savings.
Last week, I went to the bank (it should be your own bank as they are more accomodating) and exchanged a heap of coppers, five pences and my vast amount of ten pences.
It was about £200 and the cashier was absolutely lovely about it despite my embarassment.
Just thought I would offer this as a suggestion for the future.
:undecided
Good luck with your journey.Mortgage: £0/£80,329.91

Wow what a flutter of replies, it's nice to have some posts and readers. Thanks guys. Thanks Luckyinlife for sticking around and posting multiple times I might just go a little red.
Hi Petal88 yes even if its a little I want to start now you never know when life just gets in the way and wages fluctuate. Mine may well do in the near future I'm currently studying for a new career or should I say a career! Need the work ex so will have to take a pay cut, its just about when I can get the right role. I've always been careful with money and we would be so lucky to be mortgage free in 25 years or less if I have anything to do with it, I would be 48 in 25 years and OH 52, house is part of pension plan but need to step those up a little too but I feel if we do both at the same time we will have more to put into them when its paid off but will do both even if pension is not as much as I'd like.
Thanks for popping by sarahevie1 hopefully we achieve the dream, it can seem so daunting seens as I'm a few steps behind the start line hehe long time to stay dedicated to something but a little bit each month now is better than a bigger chunk later on I think. Everyone in my life must think I'm dolally! The dream is a place in Cornwall and helping our future children in life as its not easy.
stewby thank you for your long postThank you for your congratulations
Yes thank you I will avoid the machines, theres always ways the world tried to take the little money we have and it annoys the hell out of me like paying for parking don't get me started! I hope you didn't get too red faced in the bank but I used to work in one and you see it all, if the cashier is on the same wavelength as us strange people then I'm sure they would have understood, not everyone who works in the banks are bloodsuckers hehe.
OK OH got paid 100 for me to pay me back to go towards safe net
98.50 To furniture
401.50 to House xtras and that's thatfor another week or so anyway, got 27p from Asda price guarantee, will need it as the food budget this month has gone quick opps

Confession to make, please don't kick me out of forum! I spend my OP pot! .... Only joking but I did spend my Tesco club card boost points on some new bit for the new house only 20£ worth but I have had my eye on them for ages and know there will be loads I want to get! Missed out on using a couple of my asda price guarantee vouchers as they expire oops.
Still waiting for my uniform rebate which will be a nice surprise. Also applied for the free carbon monoxide alarm for new house as we were going to buy one eventually anyway so that's handy.
Still using the same food budget as a few years ago but its getting more tricky, can't wait to get growing in the new house. So I've written to Muller in the hope I get some vouchers as I've done this a little in the past. Also got £10 from Mobile expression coming through in Amazon vouchers that is for a potato river to make my life easier. Next lot from swagbucks will be for mountain dew. Also keep getting emails from saros research which I might do, believe they pay in Amazon vouchers too. Also got to pay for two workshops for my course so will borrow from my holiday fund as we won't be on one of those for a little while and I borrowed some mkney from my savings which is rainy day/ part of pension safe net £50 to go and I'm wiping it off as the OPing is part of pension plan too so in my mind it balances out. Can't wait to move as we will be closer to the shops and lidl so more worthwhile going at end of day for bargains!Target roughly 75% LTV before Feb/March 2021 (20% LTV = £40,999) - OP'd so far 763.51 out of 5 yr goal - £40,235.49 to go!:rotfl:0 -
Nooooo Monie hehe
If it makes you feel better i just bought a load of new furniture for my place as its very close to being finished now just small stuff left
spent just over 3k but thats inc 3 new sofas table chairs fireplaces sideboards ect ect some stuff will have to wait as this was the budget i gave myself for the new furniture i have a load to move as well I could spend more of my EF but you have to limit yourself sometimes to keep things on track
I think having the house as the pension plan is a great idea as well
Id like a btl myself as part of my pension plan but thats a year or 3 away yet i just like owning things i can feel and touch myself :]Mortgage--- [STRIKE]£67700 March 15[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£65221 April 15[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£64983 July 15[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£64780 sept 15[/STRIKE] Remortgage [STRIKE]£67295 oct 15[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£66599 Nov 15[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£65878.73 Dec 15[/STRIKE][STRIKE] £64834 1st Jan 16[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]Feb 16 £64,511.89[/STRIKE][STRIKE] March 16 £64,056.40[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]April 16 £62550[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]May 16 £62,396.20[/STRIKE] Feb 17 £60.800

Wheyyyyy just seen I got my first badge horah hehe. Can't wait for the day I get my MF badge.
Hey lucky in life. Another crazy MFW poster on I. The middle of the night, this quest does strange things to us! Not much else to report just yet. We sha see wonder where the next drib or drab of money will come from to add to the pot. I've noticed looking back at my sheets of where money came from for the deposit and OP fund sometimes they are little surprised or unexpected events that lead to the money. Also checked my free postcode lottery no joy. The national lottery was my plan A for paying off mortgage then getting forever home but that didn't happen tonight. We can dreamTarget roughly 75% LTV before Feb/March 2021 (20% LTV = £40,999) - OP'd so far 763.51 out of 5 yr goal - £40,235.49 to go!:rotfl:0
