Thank you for the support cookson :) Would love to have a mortgage nearer the size of yours.

OK got 25.98 from Top Cash Back as I redeemed through Amazon they added an extra pound and some pennies so will be ordering the loo roll and soapnuts when that voucher hits my account. Along with the £10 quidco payment I will stock up on deodorant and soap.

£5.00 bank reward going to OP, the other one to Kayak. Have another try me for free cheque that will go towards OP, will document when I check how much it is.
Scrub that about deodorant that one they charge for delivery and doesn’t make it worth while so will build a fund in there for birthday prezzies and xmas and transfer that money from my bank to OP fund.

Seen so many sales for furniture Dunelm literally 75% off some stuff, will have to keep note of these sales and make the most of them next year after we move.

Get a whole weekend off this weekend to spend with OH, may go out too which doesn't happen often but train is cheaper than taxi so that will be the way to travel.
    Target roughly 75% LTV before Feb/March 2021 (20% LTV = £40,999) - OP'd so far 763.51 out of 5 yr goal - £40,235.49 to go!:rotfl:

I have a feeling I will be starting a lot of my posts with Sooo or OK, need to come up with something creative.
Hello all you sensible human beings for being on this brilliant website!
2.43 Birdseye try me for free cheque to the OP and also 5.75 interest from my bank account.
Ordered some Reeses bars from amazon with the soap nuts as a bit of a treat and short on the food budget this month so should get a nice delivery in a couple of days courtesy of Topcashback.
Saw a great deal on checkoutsmart free shower wash if you order through Tesco online which I probably won’t do, guess I could click and collect but bit silly for a tiny shop especially if it’s just a bottle of shower wash.
I did combine a voucher with shopitize cash back to make some deodorant free along with the half price offer in store but they over charged me by a pound so will have to get that refunded when I go back what a pain! Don’t normally check receipts that much but will start to! Also will make some more soup on days off, carrot this time as they are starting to go funny L I hate wasting food, good thing about GYO is you can pick it when its needed stays fresher. Will see if I can post a pic of my veg growing from cuttings on here.

Signature update adding 8.18 wohooo J

The delivery arrived and used the soap nuts they seem alright, i know other people on here like them a lot so that should be washing sorted for a while.

Also had £10 cleared from quidco and paid to my amazon account so that has gone on loo roll so only paid cash of just under £3 for 80 odd rolls so will have to find somewhere to store them now! Funny if someone came around and found the stash, wonder if we will use them by the time we move or if we will have to transport them to new house, might be a funny sigh for the neighbours.

Soup was quite nice, made some nettle soup as I read it's good for your skin, had a bit of an incident with the blender, lid on but it found a way out of the spout and up the side of the fridge and on the cupboards, I think i should have followed a recipe as it tasted funky but will eat the rest anyway.

Almost pay day so I can transfer over my remaining money, under spent on my lottery money so wont top this up on pay day, not getting paid as much so will go towards the rest of fees as i will be short about 100 this payday. 21.47 left from petrol so 6.47 back to my savings account that I took money out of for a course, 5 to kayak and 10 to op so new total is below.

75.64 total to op from odd bits of money in a month.

If we overpay by about 330 pm when we move in to make my current target we should clear mortgage in 14 years i believe or was it 16 I cant remember, think it was 16 which I am happy about obviously there will be times we can OP more and possibly when we cant so a middle ground I am happy with but you never know what the future holds!

Started on next months food budget a few days early, hope this will work out as we don't really need toiletries and will make more cheap soup and more cheap meals, need to do a bit more research on that front and add to my list.

  • Your right, life can get in the way but the mindset never leaves you. Newgirly had a great tip of oping 10p a day through the frugal times, doesn't make a dent in the mortgage but keeps your eye on the ball.

I think you are doing fabulously being so committed so early, think of the interest saved. I'll keep popping in with tips where I can, if that's ok:o

    Hello All
So payday was even less than expected so 360.21 to fees and safe net, will know more about status of safe net shortly as will have to pay pretty much everything within a week, was hoping safe net to be 6k by the time we move in but if it is then will put 1k to OP as we can make underpayments and payment holidays so I have that as reassurance. I try and move my money around my accounts each month to max benefits and interest but forgot I set up a standing order now am a bit confused and think 500 is in transition somewhere, will have to check in a few hours and hope it has landed in one of my accounts safe and sound!
Thanks for popping by sarahevie1 good to know people are reading, not sure if that is why I am doing it but it’s nice. Plus I like the tip about o-ping 10p in tough times keeps you focused and means you can update the spread sheets which is always fun as we all know!
On one of my cashback apps they have free banana milk shake so will pop by Asda on way back and get some, will see if they can refund my overcharged pound or if I have to go back when customer service is open

    Hi guys

Been a bit down dwelling on things at the mo.

I want to stay on track oping but also get some furnature for house so its not empty but me and OH want to start trying for a baby in the next couple of years so I want to have a baby fund, just don't think we can do it all to the scale I want. So OPing may get put on the back burner or at least I won't pay as much but I will pay something!

On that note I did the asda price match guarantee and got a voucher for 1.61 woooo so at least it helps. I never see many other vouchers to "womble" or they are all so small they won't compare them. I go in the morning so the cleaner has swept them up! Damn them!!

Also not sure if I mentioned it the mortgage co made a mistake on our paper work so the mortgage has been reduced by a whole pound lol:cool:

Ok so maybe I was being melodramatic. Things arnt as I thought inwasnt taking into account my other savings I have at the moment! So when we move in the savings goals other than mortgage will be odds and sodds furnature extra 1 k safe net. Baby gumpf for oh and saving for maternity leave for me.

I have just installed GfK app so should be £10 to go on more mountain dew in a month.

Will list other ways we saved for the deposit when I can be bothered to lost them maybe tomorrow.

Also update on the house we get to have our options meeting soon need to pick a date when we decide the kitchen and tiles and taps and stuff. Hope not to go over 2k on extras this will be mainly tiles in the kitchen diner.

Things would be better If I wasn't paying out for my course every month but its for my own good and a change of career. Scrap that an actual career and not just jobs!

Will have to post a pick of my stash of loo rolls in the shed it makes me giggle! £10 added to OP pot I had some change i had saved and was going to put towards my pension but the mortgage reduction is part of that plan anyway so redirecting there. Instead of going to the bank and paying in spare change I've put that towards food budget and transferring over to OP account on internet banking, think i'd prefer to feed it into the self service machines.

    Hello everyone

Need to get more Amazon vouchers for mountain dew as that has all dried up. OH found the stash. I found a new hiding place for snacks so he doesn't eat them all but forgot where I hid them! My memory did allow me to remember though which is fortunate.

Towards the cause, free packet of biscuits from work, at least I wont have to buy that packet from the shop.

Brought about 5 things in Sainsbury's clothes sale all half price and had a £5 off voucher as they were delayed with the first order. Still feel bad though as I'm trying to find the money as I've already spend my spending money for the next couple of weeks.

Not much to report, I found a couple of errors on receipts but don't always go to the same shops so a pound or two doesn't seem worth the petrol so have left that too late to complain about. Although I have used a couple of Ristorante pizza vouchers has anyone else seen the offer? 2.50 a pop. Been going over my food budget though so hope I earn enough on food cash back apps in the next couple of weeks to help with next food budget as I have dipped into the account. A worker in Asda had the cheek to say I was scraping the barrel when putting my coppers in the machine :( I did think of a response when I was driving away and thought she might not have had the LBM its all to save pennies for the bigger picture hey!?

Had to stay on almost an hour at work on the bank holiday but it was double time and had to do 2 ad a half extra hours the day after so that will help for the overspend on clothes.

Been wasting more food which I am very upset about need to date them when I take them out of freezer. Trying to make myself feel better by reminding myself I use coupons and trying to grow little bits in garden, don't want to go crazy as will have to move everything when we move house and the time of year I'm a bit too late to plant other things.

OH got paid we exchanged contracts!. So 500 to fees and 5 from Halifax reward so 164.36 left till we can focus on the other pots. From his pay some is going to a dog fund and towards a course so he can get a trade behind him, mid term plan. So nothing to actually add to OP at the mo as redirecting the little finds towards paying my other account back that I borrowed from but that is part of the safe net.

Wonder when my diary will get to two pages :)
