Surely the only people this CTC changes are hitting are mainly the couples/parent who work?!

People out of work won't lose nearly as much as those in work thanks to the taper?! How can this be making work pay?

....but the wrong people are being targeted!

I agree, the goverment said they will help working families, but have hit decent working families hard and allowed the scroungers to carry on scrounging....??
Plan: [STRIKE]Finish off paying the remainder of my debts[/STRIKE].
[STRIKE]Save up for that rainy day[/STRIKE].
Start enjoying a stress debt free life.....now enjoying. thanks to all on MSE

Unemployment is going to absolutely sky rocket! They're screwing over the working families and letting Mrs 5-kids-who-refuses-to-work get off completely Scott free! It's disgusting!

mrs 5 kids who refuses to work will be affected by the benefit cap.
her benefits will be limited to 23k a year in london and 20k everywhere else.
she will lose upto £100+ a week.

Everybody has been hit in some way or other.
Bedroom tax and removal of full council tax support.
    Benefit cap reduced again.
    £30 removed from wrag.
    Ctc limited to two children.
This is on top of what the coalition did removing child benefit and ctc from middle earners.
Only people not been hit is pensioners.
Remember the mantra we are all in this together.
Oh and what is this mythical benefit scrounger?

i dont dispute that, but the accusation was that mrs 5 kid with no work would be laughing and it isn't the case

Mrs 5 kids will still not be any further encouraged to want to work though!
We will be entitled to the bare minimum in ctc and I'll be withdrawing from the system, it's much easier to just get by without help, then when things like this happen you don't bat an eyelid.

dont get me wrong. i , like many others can't understand why they have penalised the low paid workers over and above the non workers.
the system is being readjusted more in line with how it was pre tax credit days.
the system was too easy to take advantage of and allowed people to make choices that they wouldn't have if the 'top up' hadn't been available.

the sick and disabled were hit last time, and those in the WRAG have been hit again.

this time the main target seems to be the low paid, on the whole, rather than the long term unemployed who have had a fairly smooth ride for too long

Wait for universal credit then it will be even worse. Mrs 5 kids will have to look for work then as will every other stay at home parent.
Many people also don't realize that if they have savings over 16k they wont get a penny like they do now with tax credits.
