I've had 4 kids and never gone to the GP, just self-referred to the local midwives. Could you not avoid the GP?0

Congratulations Johanne - can only echo what everyone else is saying, i wouldnt worry about your GP, the midwife and hospital will prob be much better!!!
My sister has severe scoliosis - she has an 's' curvature, and whilst she was growing, had to wear a full back brace for about 4 years (only allowed to take it off for 1 hour a day). She has had 2 successfull pregnancies, and as far as im aware, the scoliosis didnt effect her in anyway, so hopefully you will find the same thing.0 -
Hi
When I found out I was pregnant by way of a home kit I could not believe it, I had had unsuccessful treatment and thought I could not conceive. I was in such a state of disbelief and yet incredible nervousness/excitement the doctor agreed to do another pregnancy test. I think only to reassure me that I was in fact pregnant he had treated me for a good while and knew what it all meant to me. However that is not the norm, wait till your dating scan I had to have one because of the possible amnio tests due to my age and as other posters have said every single date was different. And my beautiful daughter decided to come on a completely different date/week anyway.
Dont fret and try to enjoy this wonderful time,it will get better, ifyou are really feeling ill in the mornings, try ginger biscuits before you have anything else in the mornings. I cant remember if it worked but I tried it, I found the worst things were swollen ankles I never thought my ankles would be normal again, but they are. And let me tell you everything is worth it the joy this has brought me is second to none even now4 years on I still count myself as incredibly lucky.
Good Luck
