Morning!!!
just catching up with the new diaries, you've made loads of progress! that's awesome, keep it up!
Thank you
Well I've just put my son in his cot for a nap. We've had a productive morning, everything off my list has been ticked and I've taken my son for a haircut. I've updated my YNAB and checked all my accounts.

Another day......
We're going out for the day today. It has been budgeted for and the money is sitting in an envelope waiting.
I've just remembered that we were having pork chops for dinner tonight, but I haven't taken them out of the freezer to defrost. Oooops! I wonder whether they'll defrost in time if I take them out this morning?? Fingers crossed.
My aim today is to only spend the cash that we are taking out with us, no additional spending!Starting a new debt free journeyStarting Debt: £5,250Current Debt: £4,995.50Amount Paid: £254.50 Percentage Paid: 4.84%Emergency Fund: £3500 -
I'm pleased to say that the only money spent today was what was in the envelope for today. I'm even happier to say that I brought home some change! £5.50 to be exact. :j Though, I can't say it was a brilliant day out. Our toddler was grumpy and grouchy the whole time. He was tired, but refused point blank to sleep! We ended up leaving earlier and coming home sooner than expected because we'd just had enough of the whining the whole way around! Grrrrrrr! The joys of toddlerhood!! Nothing we did was right!!
Anyway, he is now in bed for the nightm and fingers crossed will be back to being our lovely little boy tomorrow!!
Ive checked the bank accounts today and YNAB, everything is in order. It only takes me a couple of minutes to do it in the morning, but if there are any issues I can pick them up straight away.
Oh, almost forgot, I did spend 99p on myself buying a kindle book. It was a book I was after. I couldn't find it in the library when I was there last and it was around £3.50 online at the time. I had an email through last night saying it was now at 99p so figured I'd treat myself
Forgot again about taking the pork chops out. In the past that would've been a rubbish excuse for a takeaway/supermarket pizza or something along those lines. But, no. We used what we had in the house and had mash, veg and fish fingers. :money:
Right, tonight.........I'm going to catch up on last night's Eastenders, browse some diaries and read. Chill out night!Starting a new debt free journeyStarting Debt: £5,250Current Debt: £4,995.50Amount Paid: £254.50 Percentage Paid: 4.84%Emergency Fund: £3500 -

BT to Talk Talk seems to have been smooth! The only difficult bit was unplugging the BT home hub - all the wires had become tangled!!
Virgin voicemail is a different story. I've been on the phone this morning, after being on the phone on Tuesday and it's still not working. I rely on my voicemail for work so really need to get this set up!! Grrrrrrrr!!
On a brighter note, the sun is shining! We've had lots of rain recently so it's lovely to see a blue sky and the sun. I mean it is August in 2 days!Starting a new debt free journeyStarting Debt: £5,250Current Debt: £4,995.50Amount Paid: £254.50 Percentage Paid: 4.84%Emergency Fund: £3500 -
An hour and a quarter later and I've just got off the phone to Virgin again. Still not fixed, though! I'm not going to be moving on with my to-do list at all at this rate!! I've spoken with 3 different advisors and someone on the advanced technical team. Grrrrrrr! I'm waiting for them to phone me back now.
I've checked my YNAB and bank account whilst I've been on hold (multitasking there!). I've got my August big shop coming this evening (I know it's not technically August yet, but it's close enough). From looking at the available balance/actual balance on my bank card I've worked out that the shop comes it a little under the estimated price (only about 20p, but it all help!!). Will have to wait until they arrive tonight to check I'm correct though. All other accounts are looking good!
Next on my to-do list is to contact Mothercare. I ordered a couple of sale bits to be delivered to my local store by last Tuesday. I haven't received a message to say that they've arrived, but when checking online Yodel say that the delivered on Tuesday, the mothercare website itself says that they haven't arrived yet, though. grrrrrrr! Will phone the store to see if they have it. Then it's back to my to-do list!Starting a new debt free journeyStarting Debt: £5,250Current Debt: £4,995.50Amount Paid: £254.50 Percentage Paid: 4.84%Emergency Fund: £3500 -
Yay! Voicemail is sorted. Managed to photocopy what I needed for work between calls. I've contacted mothercare as well and my orders are in.
To sort out my voicemail I needed to reset my whole phone so all my apps have disappeared. Will have to add that to today's todo list!
First wash is done, next one about to go in. I think I'll clean the bathroom next. What an exciting day I'm having!Starting a new debt free journeyStarting Debt: £5,250Current Debt: £4,995.50Amount Paid: £254.50 Percentage Paid: 4.84%Emergency Fund: £3500 -
Well I think I did ok with my list. Dh has dusted upstairs for me this evening. Ds is at nursery tomorrow, so after dropping him off first thing I will stop at the bottle bank and then mothercare on the way to the supermarket to pick up bits for my son's party.
We got a home delivery from Asda this evening. What a mess! Discounts hadn't come off correctly, plus one of the substitutions was rubbish. I Phoned the number on the delivery sheet and got out through to someone who clearly didn't want to be there. it was so bad that I've already written out a complaint. Awful!!
Other than that, ds's clothes are pretty much sorted for our holiday, I need to sort through mine tomorrow. No idea when dh will be sorting his! As long as it's not the hour before we are due to leave the house!!!
Time for bed now, before a busy day tomorrow. Good night xStarting a new debt free journeyStarting Debt: £5,250Current Debt: £4,995.50Amount Paid: £254.50 Percentage Paid: 4.84%Emergency Fund: £3500 -
Sleep obviously isn't on the cards tonight.
I've got blocked sinuses (just on one side of my face
). I've taken paracetamol, but they haven't touched it. Ouch!!!!!
I may as well start today's to do list!- [STRIKE]Tesco party food shop[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]Mothercare to collect order[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]Card Factory to pick up balloons[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]The Range to buy a candle[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]Bake fairy cakes[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]Cook sausage rolls[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]Vacuum upstairs and downstairs[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]Wrap the last of the gifts[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]Clean kitchen (proper deep clean - it does get wiped down daily!)[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]Pack my clothes[/STRIKE]
- Sort cupboard in downstairs toilet out
- Sort shoe rack out
That's all I can think of at the moment, I'm sure I'll be adding to it as today goes on!Starting a new debt free journeyStarting Debt: £5,250Current Debt: £4,995.50Amount Paid: £254.50 Percentage Paid: 4.84%Emergency Fund: £3500 -
Well I've updated today's to do list. Not quite finished, but I'm pleased with what I have achieved!
The next week is going to be a little all over the place. Lots and lots going on here, but I'm pleased to say it has all been budgeted for. I've been through the budgeting with dh this evening so that we're both aware of what's going on. I'm hoping I can be back on here in a week's time and say I was under budget and have pennies to spare. As long as I don't go over, though, I'll be happy.
I may pop on here during the week, but no guarantees!!Starting a new debt free journeyStarting Debt: £5,250Current Debt: £4,995.50Amount Paid: £254.50 Percentage Paid: 4.84%Emergency Fund: £3500
