I've spent this evening sorting through our freezer(s!!!) to see what meat we have for next month. Here goes (and with per meal, I mean for the 3 of us
)
1. A whole chicken
2. Pork steaks (enough for 6 meals, plus for one meal next week)
3. Steak mince (2 meals - 1 next week and 1 August)
4. Turkey mince (4 meals)
5. Turkey mini breast fillets (2 meals)
6. Diced Turkey (1 meal)
7. Turkey steaks (3 meals)
8. Diced lamb (1 meal)
9. Beef casserole steaks (1 meal)
10. Diced beef (1 meal)
11. Diced chicken (1 meal).
With spending the first week of August away, I think it's safe to say we have plenty of meat to last the whole month! I may add chicken breasts to make a hunters chicken type thing, and another pack of steak mince, which I split before freezing so it makes 3 different meals. All I need to do now is our meal plan!!Starting a new debt free journeyStarting Debt: £5,250Current Debt: £4,995.50Amount Paid: £254.50 Percentage Paid: 4.84%Emergency Fund: £3500 -
Well I'm jumping around from topic to topic on here today!!
I'm currently lying in bed and have been reading people's diaries. It's fab to see so many people succeeding against this horrible debt.
Today I've had a little bit of a spendy day.
I've ordered a couple of Christmas presents for my ds. All at a reduced price. I've only got a couple of things left to get him now, which I intend buying with clubcard boost in November. I've also bought myself 2 tops and a necklace from the Dorothy Perkins sale. Dh and I have a set amount of personal money each month, depending on what's left after bills, savings, etc. This money is for those little treats we want, for example I love diet coke, but buy Tesco value from the food budget (and I actually fill 500mlcoke bottles with value stuff and take it to work, it's all about how the head works, and I'm not sure mine is on the same wavelength as a lot of people! What I'm trying to say is if I really want proper coca cola, I buy it myself and don't take from the food budget. This month we had £40 each, so I looked at the DP sale and found these items for under £21 with free home deliveryThis leaves me with £19 ish. There is one book I have my eye on, so may get that at some point other than that it will probably disappear on coke and wine!! :rotfl:
This weekend shouldn't be too spendy. We're out for the day tomorrow, but it's to some nice gardens which are free to enter, and my mum is buying lunch. We're eating at my mum's tomorrow night. Sunday we're out for lunch for a family do. Lunch is being paid for, but will take money for drinks, then following that we have a birthday party for a 2 year old. Gift was sorted months ago (in the sale of course!!).
Right, I'm going to read a couple of pages of my book, then I think it's time for sleeping!!Starting a new debt free journeyStarting Debt: £5,250Current Debt: £4,995.50Amount Paid: £254.50 Percentage Paid: 4.84%Emergency Fund: £3500 -
Still haven't meal planned for next month. That's tomorrow's job!!
We've had a really busy weekend. Spent yesterday out and about, my son had loads of free space to run around. We then had dinner at my mum's. We went out for lunch today with hubby's family. Didn't cost a penny! That was followed by a 2 year old's birthday party. The total cost of this weekend was £0.
Also, I had money put aside for 1 bill, and that was ready to be paid yesterday. I had a little left over so have managed to increase my emergency fund by £2.50Every little helps! That's now up to £666.44.
Tomorrow should be a no spend day, as well. I'm home for the day, and going to prepare for my ds' birthday party which is next weekend. I have a budget of £40 for the food, 2 cakes (1 for nursery) and balloons. I have already got the decorations, and things like plates/cups. It should be doable as we're only having a little party!Starting a new debt free journeyStarting Debt: £5,250Current Debt: £4,995.50Amount Paid: £254.50 Percentage Paid: 4.84%Emergency Fund: £3500 -

Yay! Managed to tick everything off my list. :j
The only spend today was for my son's birthday card, so I'm very happy with that.
What a yucky day, though. You'd never guess it was almost AugustI'm wrapped up in a dressing gown as well as my pj's because it's cold!!
Anyway, the rest of today is going to be about watching Eastenders, browsing some diaries on here, reading and just doing a lot of nothing. My headache from this morning hasn't completely disappeared, either.Starting a new debt free journeyStarting Debt: £5,250Current Debt: £4,995.50Amount Paid: £254.50 Percentage Paid: 4.84%Emergency Fund: £3500 -

Right, today's list. My son is with me today and not in nursery so won't be doing as much.
1. [STRIKE]Big supermarket shop (starting in Aldi and if things are cheaper in Tesco then will pick them up there - yes I have all Tesco prices written on my list!). This will include bits for the monthly shop (the rest is coming from Asda on Thursday) and also things for going away at the weekend to save pennies when we are away[/STRIKE].
2. [STRIKE]Make homemade soup[/STRIKE].
3. [STRIKE]Deliver a crafting item to a friend[/STRIKE].
4. [STRIKE]Laundry[/STRIKE].
5. [STRIKE]Laminate my son's birthday gift (sounds interesting??)[/STRIKE].
6. [STRIKE]Sort out boiler/utility room[/STRIKE].
That will take this morning. This afternoon I will be packing a bag as my son is at his grandmother's tonight as it is mine and hubby's wedding anniversary. We save each month for a night out on our Anniversary. It could very possibly have been our last anniversary when we went out for a meal just the 2 of us. I have no idea where we're going, though, it is a surprise. Very excited :j To save pennies we haven't bought gifts for each other. We found that the years we did buy something, it was buying for the sake of buying!
