and to follow up , the catchup tv thing can only be run on rooted android , just check on amazon , http://www.amazon.co.uk/GZero-Ltd-TVCatchup/dp/B00AR1UZES/ , because I,m working on a fire TV , and amazon altered the sets to disallow rooting late last yr.

sets are rootable , its just the new software stops it AND you cannot go back AND it downloads it as soon as you fire up ,,, without asking!!!

ok , just to update this , the "best" or most complete "freeview" settup under xbmc/Pi is "ivue" , link here
    http://tecbox.tv/repo/install/
and the install instructions , just set it up for UK freeview , do not bother linking it to StalkerPVT

yup , leave the other apps on , load uk freeview , anything it says it cant find , box appears on right , <configure> , go to your app and hit enter

brought quest and a few more in from not film on , also <configure channels> tick or untick , i had to use a mouse to get to the save button

add vdub25 , check chasnnels (sports) right click and add as favorates , when you go back to ivue , they are there

according to http://www.tvplayer.com/compatibility amazon uk product B00KJ92WGM (44 quid freeviw box with apps) could give you 59 channels via tvplayer.com although i am unsure if that is via an app on the freeview box or via Channel 241 on Freeview.

If the aerial is a shared one in a flat then normally it would be covered by the maintenance/service charge. Get on to the managing agents and tell them to sort it out.

Or if not, then just get an aerial installer round to sort it out or put up a new aerial. All the debate on here is then superfluous.

please refer to the first sentence in post one , it read

"OK situation here , TV ariel has "done one" , due to contractual reasons etc etc , replacement / repair is not an option."
