Hi Sourcrates and January and Saz and Harry!
Thank you for repying to me. I feel like such a drama queen now. It just goes to show though, doesn't it, when you're low and you have money worries how it can affect your mental health. I took it so personally that no one had replied and yet, I know it isn't personal. !!
Thank you so much for your advice. I will be getting in touch with BC and will be marking my letter COMPLAINT. :)

No problems - you are definitely not a drama queen :D This thread in particular moves so quickly some days I feel like I miss loads. I do try and keep track of it and play catch up but clearly I don't always manage that:o It's strange because some days the thread seems soooooooo slow. Either way, we will always be here to help you and each other:beer:

Everyone on this thread knows what it's like to sit and worry about our finances and not to have the answers we need. The brain just keeps whirring around and, if you are anything like me, you just build everything up in your head until you can't make sense of practically anything. I've definitely been there with our debts.

Thanks for the reply. They blew us out because we'd need to be near the end of the DMP apparently. I don't really want to go bankrupt but I'm horrified that the DMP is going to cause so many issues in this area. If I can't more or get council property easily then I'm screwed. Our current landlord may want to kick us out soon so rather worried :(

If the landlord kicks you out then I would think, if you have children, the council would have a responsibility to house you.

I do feel for you in this situation. I can only try to imagine what it must be like to not have the security of knowing you are secure in your home and you are at the whim of a landlord. It must be awful to feel you have no options.

Is there a reason the landlord wants you out? Is it worth talking to the landlord - do they have other properties that may be suitable for you. Failing that I would approach the council and housing associations in the area and see what support they can give. Some councils offer a scheme to support people into private rented accommodation. The council provides the deposit and guarantee against any damage caused during the tenancy, and any rent arrears it's worth asking if your local council offers anything like this and, if they do, to see if you could be accepted onto such a scheme. Here is a link to one council's scheme to give you an idea of what I mean.

Try and stay positive - we're all here for you. Not much help with finding accommodation, but we are a sounding board for you to moan at and to ask for ideas and/or comments on anything you come up with.

Had a strange email from Step change today saying.
That the above creditor (MBNA) had rejected the payment we offered them as you have another debt with them that isnt on your plan etc etc etc.

So i called mbna who said that firstly they've had no contact with step change yet.
And secondly i only have one product with them so there as baffled as me.
And when i log onto my plan online there are no payments listed to any of my creditors yet as my plan isnt starting until the 1st of march.

Could this have been sent in error step change just said ignore it.

You have to remember stepchange have a lot of clients, could be someone got mixed up, wouldn't worry about it.

I live by the philosophy that if it can go wrong, it usually does, it's quite rare for anything to go without a hitch in sourcrates world lol !!!

As others have said, quite probably a mix-up, give it 6 weeks from your first payment and then if not fixed, ring MBNA again to talk it through. Keep a copy of the email SC sent you, and make notes of who you called and what they said and when.

It's ok, as Jan and others have said, we look out for each other on here, and what ever happens, we like to know.

And for anyone else posting here, if we slip up and miss you, shout out, it's lovely to see so many posting here, but sometimes it's soooo busy, my tired eyes can't keep up.

Just a heads up for any coop bank Current account holders or potential current account holders.

This may not work if you have the basic account.

There is an 'everyday rewards' scheme where you can get up to £5.50 per month if you meet certain criteria (stay in credit, pay in £800, 4 direct debits etc). It's only by chance I noticed it when I logged out of the on-line. The site said to ring to opt in which I've done,(took ages but nice lady) and the call centre lady said you can do it on line, but I didn't see it as an option.

Also for anyone transferring to a new coop current account, there is £110 bonus.

I did get a Yorkshire bank account (I run both now) about 18 months ago despite the DMP so don't rule yourselves out automatically, just go into it with the view that if they accept, great, if not, nothing lost.

    Thanks x

They'll email you each moth to let you know if you've qualified...keep an eye on it, as they'd registered the wrong account for me. All sorted now though.

    Hi Sazzie

I looked into applying for this, but stopped after reading the eligibility requirements......which I fail :rotfl:

    • You must not have had any County Court Judgments (CCJs), been declared bankrupt or defaulted on any credit agreements in the last 6 years
    • You must not have missed 3 or more payments on any credit agreement(s) in the last 6 months
I don't have CCJs, nor have I been declared bankrupt....but everything else I more than fulfil :rotfl:

Nevermind.....maybe in 6 years I will be able apply ;)
