I'm wondering if the reg number has been misread from day one & the 1st NIP was sent to the keeper of W.....E & not the OP? If so then I doubt the "14 day" rule has been complied with.

If I were the OP I'd take this to pepipoo but post all the info 'cos they will ask!

    Speed camera.

Due to roadworks the speed limited was reduced on m25 from 70 to 40mph.
I drove passed where the roadworks would have started and they just took the last couple of cones away as they had finished for the day. 5am in the morning
I drove 40 mph for the next couple of miles with no cars on the road increased to normal limit of 70 the sign must have still be 40 when I did so.

So I was most likely wrong but still should have had the first notice within the first 14 days.

Ignore the incorrect reg, they are trying to catch you out so they can use the Slip rule and re-submit a new one.
They do this deliberately, it is not an error, therefore ignore it,
You have to complete the s172, with this you send a photocopy of the NIP
You attach a letter that must be signed with the NIP number on stating that.

XXX days have elapsed between the alleged offence on the date xxx and issue of the NIP on date xxx
The NIP does not comply with Road Traffic Act 1960 s. 241(2) and is therefore "out of time"
I Demand you therefore cancel the NIP.

This is a strange one. It appears that this is a reminder NIP. What I don't understand is how it could have got to you with the incorrect registration. The slip rule has nothing to do with the 14 day rule and applying it after the 14 days doesn't make start the clock again.

If the first had gone to the wrong person due to number plate error, this second should have the correct reg number on it.

Try again at pepipoo. Can't think why they wouldn't let you join.

    Thanks Mark
the s172 is on the back side of the NIP. So you say I just fill it in and sign it to say I am the keeper of the car even though they put the wrong registration on it?
I will make a photo copy of both sides and sent them a filled in copy of the S172 and NIP this way I have the original paperwork here that I need to show that it all arrived to late.

So I mention nothing about the wrong reg number?

there is also a long letter on another side will find it and copy it here to see what you think

The difficulty with this route is that proving you didn't receive the first NIP is hard work.

This guy who is PeterG on pepipoo had to take it to Crown Court on appeal. If it was as simple as "Didn't get the letter, guv" everyone would do it. He even had the postman as a witness and the magistrates still convicted him of FTF.

    Dear Merc,

Tried to register on pepipoo a couple of times today on IE and Google but everytime I put the secret number in it tells me it's wrong and gives me a new one to type in. Can you ghost try from your site please Merc I normally use fake email account to see if it works when doing a ghost application.

What do you think I should do with my case? I am worried as I never speed and always keep to the limit which normally on the M25 is 70mph

AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH this is doing my head in.

    1960?

Sorry, that section has long been repealed.

The current relevant legislation is section 1(1)(c) of the Road Traffic Offenders Act 1988.

I would keep trying to register , you will get proper advice there . Trying to get slippy with this is likely to cost you a great deal more.

I also believe it is possible to contact the mod there without registering, or at least admin of some sort to help with registration.
