Pollycat - I'm worried about your toiletries exploding in your case & ruining your clothes!
Just to report back that my suncream didn't explode and none of my other liquids leaked either - thankfully including the 2 x 375ml bottles & 1 x 500ml bottle of extra virgin olive oil we brought back in our cases. :)

Although we had a very stress-free run-up to our holiday (see my post # 42), it was a nightmare going through Security at Manchester airport.
We had all our liquids in the re-sealable plastic bag of the correct dimensions.
They had a sign saying electrical equipment (they showed a photo of an iron) had to be removed from your hand luggage.
I can't remember this happening when we flew from LGW in May or Manchester in February.
Then, as we got closer to the scanner a woman was shouting a list of items that also had to be removed.
This included all sorts of stuff like earphones, chargers, phones, MP3 players that we've always had in our hand luggage but not had to remove before (I know you have to put laptops/tablets through separately).
My OH said he felt like tipping his hand luggage upside down into the tray and leaving them to sort though it. :rotfl:
I even had to remove my silver & shell pendant and watch. smiley-rolleyes010.gif

On a recent self catering holiday, my wife packed a large tub of curry powder in my case. It exploded. I spent the holiday smelling like I had just got off the boat from Calcutta.

I generally pack the rucksacks (prefer it to cases as it distributes the load evenly) the night before, drop the spare key off at my friend and neighbour (she looks after my cats) then just stick the toilet bag and hairbrush in last, and off we go. Don't do lists and depending on travel time, might run the hoover over :D The only thing I make sure of is, that the cat food/litter is easily available, she knows the score anyway, she's done it long enough now!! :D

I didn't mean explode as such Pollycat, I was thinking more of a leakage over all of your clothes. I've turned into my Mom as I put bags in bags ..... :o

Yeah sometimes they make you take off shoes & belts ... & remove the iPad from it's case. I'm normally quite vocal if pushed, but I tend to keep quiet at the airport in case they punish me with an anal  Mr Duke's camera bag's always searched, well very nearly. They begin with great intentions, but after a very slight poke around they ask him if he wants to put the stuff back, because they can't :rotfl: A rucksack with many zips puts them off a search too :D

I have clothes that I only wear on holiday too, so that's one less stress for me.

Looks like I did right copying Mom's behaviour ;)

Bedlam with lists & good intensions.
Aggravated by loadmaster & driver being 2 seperate folk with seperate lists...
Plus the one pot meals are made difficult as one son has decided he won't eat pasta & another he won't eat rice. Dash it - at lease one grouch per meal unless we eat porridge twice a day.

Just less than two weeks to go and I've got my meds and done my packing lists. I thought about packing over the next week, but I'd only get it all out again the night before to check! I'll probably gather all the stuff together and put them into different boxes by category (clothes, meds, electronics etc) ready to be packed. I had hoped to take my smaller rucksack, but looking at the volume of medical stuff I think it'll have to be the big one.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

I put all my lotions n potions that go into hold luggage into strong freezer bags (so no holes).
Luckily, I've never had any leakage - but that doesn't mean it might not leak in the future. ;)

In the past, Security have always asked if you have a laptop or tablet and that has to go through separately but never stuff like earphones, chargers, phones, MP3 players.
I posted on the airtravel board on Tripadvisor and the general opinion was it was more stringent than usual so maybe they'd had a tip-off about something.
We also have rucksacks with lots of zips.
One time they searched my OH's bag (they'd obviously seen something on the scanner) then put it back through and found nothing.
It turned out to be one of these in black:

They are great for taking just enough perfume/after shave on holiday.

I have a toiletry bag, so double protection with the plastic bag.

Oh I used to dream of having one of those perfume bottles, but never got round to getting one. My sis buys me mini bottles of perfume so I usually take one of them, or I rely on free samples that I get from here :D

I have quite a few of the Travalos, all different colours so I know what perfume is in which one so I can refill easily without mixing Poison with Chanel. ;)

I've just bid on a brand new one on ebay.

Not only great for travel, they're perfect for a small handbag on a night out.
    Go for it! :)
