What is it like in your house a week before a holiday?

My better half likes to get everything packed well in advance and includes the kitchen sink. I on the other hand am more than capable of sorting it out the night before.0

I used to get very stressed when I was working, trying to do too much.
We go away so often now that I've got it down to a fine art.
Things are bagged up, in clear plastic a few days before. Just have to fill the case on Monday, before,we spend the night at the airport,,then USA bound on Tuesday to see DS and the gorgeous boys.Member #14 of SKI-ers club
Words, words, they're all we have to go by!.
(Pity they are mangled by this autocorrect!)0 -
Usually fine, although it p*sses me off when hubby says "packing only takes 5 minutes" as he puts a few items of clothing in a bag, leaving me to sort out the kids' stuff, all the wash kit, swimwear, tickets, passports, visas etc etc.0

A week before it would be the same as every other day. Packing a day or two before - carry-on only if possible.
It's not that complicated but I've never had to take kids with me!0 -
My biggest stress is having the house tidy enough or the neighbour to check.
You have your neighbour check how tidy your house is for you? Do they give you a score out of 10 or is it a full report card?
I am calm but a last minute doer. I will have thought in advance that I am going to 2 nice restaurants so want shirt A and B so will ensure they arent worn in the week proceeding when we go but beyond that its all done in the last couple of hours before we go.
Unfortunately the Mrs is a last minute person too but one that panics about it as she'll "have nothing clean to wear" or will have decided to use up her miniature toiletries because they're cute and forgotten to replace them etc.0 -

"Marleyboy you are a legend!"
MarleyBoy "You are the Greatest"
Marleyboy You Are A Legend!
Marleyboy speaks sense
marleyboy (total legend)

And then we arrive at our destination and it turns out he hasn't packed a toothbrush or deodorant and has to use mine and smell 'floral fresh' for the week :rotfl:
, and you get accusations like "Where's my hat/waterproof coat/binoculars/shaving foam/slippers/National Trust membership card?" Back in the cupboard at home dear, I imagine...

a whole week before my holiday, I've usually printed off any emailed confirmations (ie flight details, accommodation vouchers, insurance etc etc).
and thats it.
my packing and organising gets done a couple of days before we go, and the actual packing will still be getting done up to the day we travel. As long as I've got my flight tickets, passports/visas, money and know where i'm staying, its not the end of the world if i've forgotten to pack something.
