Nope, I don't read them, ever.

    Shame on us all.

You can at least rely to some extent on the Unfair Terms in Consumer Contracts Regulations 1999. This means that a contractual term is unenforceable if "contrary to the requirement of good faith, it causes a significant imbalance in the parties' rights and obligations arising under the contract, to the detriment of the consumer".

Nevertheless I would always carefully read anything that Ryanair asked me to sign, particularly if it was not something that all customers are asked to agree to on its web site.

NFH well, maybe I will push them again for compensation for her suitcase. It did, after all, cost her nearly £100 and it is now completely unusable as one wheel is missing, thanks to Ryanair.

And of course BA and Ryanair have a very similar approach to customer service!

To be fair to Ryanair they seemed to have resolved this issue in a timely manner without any fuss. Quicker than I've even heard back from BA on two recent issues I've had.

Oh yes, all credit to them for resolving it.

But that is a different department. This should never have happened in the first place.
