It does make you wonder. I mean, this woman seemed absolutely determined to get that £50 out of my friend, and when one excuse didn't work, she turned to another, and then, ultimately, threatened her with not being allowed to fly at all.

Still got nothing but an acknowledgement0

Sorry - what acknowledgement have you had?
Have you tried fax?
I received an email with a "complaint ticket number" and a message saying that my complaint has been sent to head office and I will be hearing from them in due course.
I don't have a fax. Even if I did I see no point in pestering them when they've already acknowledged receipt :-)0 -
You might like to point them in the direction of this thread.. ;-)0

I have a feeling that something is missing from this story.
That case looks slightly on the big side - is it possible that it simply didn't fit into the container? It sometimes happens with "cabin-sized luggage" - they're advertised as meeting the requirements, but they are actually slightly too big. From Poland...with love.
They are (they're) sitting on the floor.
Their books are lying on the floor.
The books are sitting just there on the floor.0 -

Although that's often the case in stories such as this, the photographs seem to be fairly conclusive to me.0
