Well, Tesco has now raised the minimum spend to £40.
Has anyone worked out which is the cheapest online supermarket for single people who only spend £25 a week?
Bundly.
Tesco, Sainsburys and Asda are £25
http://www.tesco.com/groceries/help/default.aspx?name=myDelivery&rel=help#Q18What is the minimum basket charge?
The minimum basket charge is a £4 charge that's added to all online orders where the basket value* is under £25. It only applies if your basket total is under £25 when you complete your online checkout. If you come back to amend your order, the minimum basket charge will only remain / be added if your basket is still under, or has fallen under £25 when you re-submit your order.
If your basket is under £25 when you checkout, the minimum basket charge applies whether you're shopping on desktop, mobile, or tablets and whether your shopping is being delivered to your home (whichever delivery slot you've selected), a store or another location.
Don't worry though, if Tesco make substitutions, or you refund a product(s) and your order total then drops under £25, you won't be charged. Equally, if your whole order is refunded for any reason, the minimum basket charge will be refunded at the same time.
To avoid the minimum basket charge, just make sure your basket total is £25 or more when you complete your checkout.
You will earn Clubcard points on the minimum basket charge. When you checkout, if you've incurred the charge, your additional points will be added there and then
* consisting of the items in the basket, including promotions, but excluding coupons, vouchers, discounts and service charges
Sainsburys
There is a £25 minimum order value on any grocery order. Orders over £40 will be charged a delivery fee of between £1 and £6. Orders under £40 will be charged a maximum delivery fee of £6.95. http://www.sainsburys.co.uk/sol/iw_container_page.jsp?pageRef=sites/www/site_furniture/Site_Furniture_DI.page#q23
Asda is £25 for me but previous posts have suggested that it is Area dependant, I am in Surrey and its £25.I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Competitions Time, Shopping & Freebies boards, Employment, Jobseeking & Training boards If you need any help on these boards, do let me know. No, they just raised it to £40, applicable from 25 July. Hence my question.0

Mine is still showing as £25 when I log into Tesco and the above T&C's are from Tesco, is this an imminent change?
Edited, just called Tesco and they have told me there is no change in the minimum £25 basket.
Mind you, I wouldn't put it past them to do it ! To be honest its probably them justifying sending out vans etc.
My weekly shop is in excess of £100 but if they do do it, it will annoy some people and send them elsewhere but they will probably all follow suit.
I guess they will still deliver if its under £40 but just add the usual £4 to the basket which sometimes still works out cheaper than petrol for some people.I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Competitions Time, Shopping & Freebies boards, Employment, Jobseeking & Training boards If you need any help on these boards, do let me know. Here is the email from them, copied-and-pasted.
As one of our valued Delivery Saver customers, we wanted to let you know about an important change that will soon take place. From 23rd July 2015, the minimum basket spend when you shop online for your groceries will change from £25 to £40. If you choose to spend below the minimum basket, orders will be subject to an additional surcharge of £4.
We understand that there may be an impact to how you shop with us, and we wanted to assure you that this decision has been given careful consideration. I have just been told by a family member that it is only changing for delivery saver customers which is the same as Asda. £25 for non delivery saver customers and £40 for delivery saver customers.
According to this thread, thats what Asda do https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5264397I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Competitions Time, Shopping & Freebies boards, Employment, Jobseeking & Training boards If you need any help on these boards, do let me know. Oh I see. So all I have to do is cancel my delivery saver and then just pay per week? Would that work out cheaper or will I be shooting myself in the foot? Sorry, I am not brilliant with financial stuff!
Seems Tesco and Asda are actually punishing people for being loyal enough to buy a yearly delivery saver! How is that good sense?0 -

Well don't hold me to it but that is how Asda works. You may want to clarify it with Tesco but I haven't had any emails from them yet as a non delivery saver customer.
I pay £0 for a delivery slot as I book the 4 hour free ones so my yearly spend on deliveries is zero.I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Competitions Time, Shopping & Freebies boards, Employment, Jobseeking & Training boards If you need any help on these boards, do let me know. I just rang Tesco and asked for a refund on my delivery saver so that I can pay for a series of one-off shops @ £25 and the man said that the £40 min spend will also apply to one-offs.
So I guess it's goodbye Tesco, as Asda still allow one-offs at £25 (for now!)
He also told me that since the email went out all his calls have been complaints about the change. He said they are feeding back to management all the anger and annoyance expressed by callers.
At this rate I might be looking at Iceland!0
