I am at a loss to understand my 17 y/o sometimes, just back from her dads and has managed to go to the cinema, go to see his parents, with my ex best friend in tow, her kids are away at their dads presumably, and gone out today altogether today. Yet any suggestions I make are all no! Once she arrived back home she was feeling sorry for herself as her hayfever is bad and took herself off to room.
I know I should be happy for her

    Hi LRH,
Kids, they are so confusing sometimes arent they! Even without any difficulties, they are still confusing, especially teenagers!

Things today are quiet. I have just been playing Scrabble with the oldest and although he isnt talking much, its nice to spend some time with him.
I also borrowed a DVD from my friend (the 2nd Hunger Games one) and he says that he'll watch it with me this evening.

I am trying to encourage him to eat something. He still wont eat anything that i cook or touch, as he is worried about the germs, but isn't motivated enough to make something for himself, so i have been reminding him and encouraging him for the last hour to make something (even if its just toast).

Would he be able to accept that your hygiene standards are probably higher than his? Or that if he does not eat properly his immune system is likely to be weakened and more susceptible to germs etc.

    Hi Elona.

Unfortunately, nothing will persuade him. He still hasnt eaten anything decent or filling, but has had a packet of crisps.

He will eat dinner though, as its just leftovers from yesterday (HM burgers and sweet potato fries).

Is your son interested in making things, I know you said he makes words from broken pretzels, I am thinking of things like jigsaws or puzzles of some sort?

What if food was made with food preparation gloves on? Just a thought until he has a chance to work through his concerns in therapy.
