I am here to post about glitches and find out about them from other like minded people. After all, that was the main reason the Elite thread was started wasn't it?
I do not go to threads about saving the world or raising a million pounds for charity or being superman or superwoman as even though they are admirable things to do or aspire to, they don't really interest me. However I am interested in shopping tips and glitches that save me and my family cash that we can then go on to use on other things.
So, I think it is good every so often to talk about how we might be able to help some of the worst off in society, even in a small way. If we all do a little bit here and there, no matter how small, it will definitely help someone out.
So, FC, rather than take the risk again in future of making yourself unpopular here, how about you don't snipe at the elite members and you don't try to big yourself up at every opportunity and you do go on to the mse Superheroes thread and discuss your amazing exploits with similarly minded superhumans like yourself..:D
Thankyou, the voice of reason. I cannot see the need to keep making that same point in such a way as to make out we are doing a bad thing helping othersxx
Cherish those you have in your life because you never know when they won't be there anymore.
No matter how you feel, get up, dress up & never give up.0 -

dont think we need another debate on the thread and dont want to make it worse, but here is my view for what its worth, what ever any one gives they should be applauded whether its jumping from a plane or giving a bag of food to the food bank, it is a kind gesture meant to help others, some of us may not be in a position to do big gestures so giving some of our stash or donating a few pounds when one of the elite asks is a big deal and given from the heart . the people who are getting the food dont care if we paid for it or not they are just happy to feed their familys so a big :T:T:T:T to all the lovely elite xxxxx
on the same subject ds3 is cutting his lovely blonde long hair in a few weeks for charity and the hair is going to childrens wigs, may be not a huge thing to do but I am proud of him anyway xxx

Afternoon peeps.
£5 meal deal in Co-op from today.

I better put the record straight I have no issue with paying to go to uni but previously the student loan for living expenses was not enough to survive on it's own with rent costs. So previously the grant topped up where families on low incomes could not afford to. As someone else said Landlords do charge extortionate fees for student accommodation. Far more than what renting the same size house would cost if it was rented out as a family home. I do understand there are extra costs to the landlords for student accommodation but not sure it equates to how much extra they charge.
I did say this morning I missed the bit yesterday that the student loans are now increasing for everyone.
Not everyone is lucky to live in commuting distance of a university that runs the course they want to do and stay at home to keep their living costs down. Although I do agree as someone else said that living away from uni is part of the experience and that teenagers mostly come out the other end as well rounded young adults.
Agree that part of growing up is moving away from home, particularly if you are a mum like me who does step in and sort problems - often before the offspring are aware.
The way I read the budget is that lower income families offspring had some of the loan replaced by grant on a £1 for £1 basis, now it will all be loan. So the amount available as a student will be the same. DS2 tells me that those from the poorest families also get help direct from the universities. He says that the ones that really struggle are the ones where the parents have enough income to effect the loan, but are find things tight, so these students don't get help from the uni and don't get extra help from parents.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Hi scamps, that has just reminded me I never did hear back from Co-Op when I phoned to ask why the £5 meal deal is not available in Poole they did say they would get back to me.
They are bloomin good offers too!0 -
Regarding the Uni fees and grants thing this is a link my son posted on FB earlier.
"Grants were a massive help to me at uni. After today's Budget, that lifeline has been taken from working class kids. Donate and help Britain's youth here

£1 cash :T :rotfl:
Can you pick 20% off anything, say toblerones ?
I don't think you can unfortunately, it's certain categories from what I understood (and I don't understand it at all so may be talking complete misinformation). Or if you are able to find a category that includes Toblerones, you are then stuck with that and the trick is tying it in with offers (you won't be able to move around from offer to offer across different types of products across the stores and get 20% off each offer price - I wish I could have picked Shredded Wheat months ago but now move to Toblerone:D, sadly not:( but you can see why W wouldn't want that:rotfl:).
I was very amused recently though when I saw a small pack of Toblerone at Iceland for £1:rotfl::rotfl:.0
