Good morning all hope everyone is well.

Reading the uni talk catching up, my ds3 is 15 and is currently staying at Bangor uni hall of residence, they are paying all costs including meals out and. trips, last night they went to llandudno to the cinema. had a few lectures. And seen some quiditch, even ds3 said they are wasting a lot of money to convince them to go there, when he will not be going for over 3 years.

It's been interesting to read everyone's views about the discussion I started yesterday. :o

M2tM and FC are right saving if you can would have relieved the burden. Our children are the first generation from both sides to go to university, neither of us had any idea what it entailed so no thought was given to building a pot as it wasn't something we even thought about them doing. Not sure how well we would have done if I am honest as at times it was all we could do to keep up with the bills and extra curricular activities. And when we were finally entitled to some help in the form of tax credits it was a godsend and I am thankful for that help.

Silvercar I must have missed they are topping up the student loan to balance the taking away of the grant. That is good news that everyone is on an equal pegging. :)

I'm not sure how far Bangor is from you Rhos....but part of me wonders that the whole uni experience is one that young adults take away from home rather than going somewhere local.
We have an excellent uni very close to us that does the exact course DS1 wants next year, but he doesnt want to live at home or indeed within a few mile radius of us...and I can understand that....so he's hopefully results willing going to go 4 hours away to an equally good uni,the difference being its not on the doorstep.
Aside from the social side of uni life...it is a valuable lesson in growing and developing and one that many young people benefit from. Its a chance for independence and hopefully to learn life skills that you just dont get when you still live at home.

I never went to uni,nor wanted to but I actually think that in scrapping funding and making it difficult for making a choice based on wheres convenient rather than wheres best to study opens up a whole new debate of families supporting and funding their kids much later into life and denying them the experience of "flying the nest"
In your sons case though yes he wont be going to uni for a few years but I guess its good that he will have a bit of an insight into the workings of one, even if it isnt where he might eventually study....
frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

I'm really sorry and I will make myself very unpopular :o

But why is this a good thing? isn't it justifying helping yourself by helping other people? if you are that concerned then donate your profits to these charities??

I'm very uncomfortable with making money out of others misery :(

You....and others here think it ok to line your own pockets?
I got it as you DONATE.......donate your profits? I don't somehow think any of you will :(

yes we can all make someone happy by donating udis and toblerones, but we won't give anything of our own lives up :(

it's rubbish. that we all subscribe to.

I jumped out of a plane at 35,000 feet last week......but I didn't get a discount on anything and it's the 8th time I've did it. I've raised money for charity every time. and ill continue to do so without needing praise on here.

I did it because the place I work for needs funds and I got them.

Don't care how much I'm hated and called a racist :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
    Hi FC..:hello:

Unfortunately we are not all as awesome as you seem to be..:o

I am here to post about glitches and find out about them from other like minded people. After all, that was the main reason the Elite thread was started wasn't it?

I do not go to threads about saving the world or raising a million pounds for charity or being superman or superwoman as even though they are admirable things to do or aspire to, they don't really interest me. However I am interested in shopping tips and glitches that save me and my family cash that we can then go on to use on other things.

So, I think it is good every so often to talk about how we might be able to help some of the worst off in society, even in a small way. If we all do a little bit here and there, no matter how small, it will definitely help someone out.

So, FC, rather than take the risk again in future of making yourself unpopular here, how about you don't snipe at the elite members and you don't try to big yourself up at every opportunity and you do go on to the mse Superheroes thread and discuss your amazing exploits with similarly minded superhumans like yourself..:D

Oooh now is shortly it's just come through. :D

Now do I do one pic of each pack or groups. I'm not even sure where to start as I only usually use my tinyshoes photo bucket to upload photos. :rotfl:

I guess take my pictures on my iPhone and email from there easiest option?

I've not used iTunes/icloud yet on laptop so would not have a clue there. :o

Given it's usually plain, S&V and C&O i'd be inclined to add the front too with the 1 in 6 clearly shown ;)

Great minds Henrik I was going to do that and try and clearly show the back of them with the terms and conditions of the competition as well as the best before box. ;)

I will have to get snapping.
