just read this..
Tesco is scrapping its Fuel Save scheme, which offers customers up to 20p off the price of a litre of petrol, after just 16 months.
While the website still proclaims 'Keep on saving up to 20p a litre with Clubcard Fuel Save', a new addition has appeared warning customers that the offer will end on August 31.
Last summer, the then chief executive Philip Clarke said Fuel Save 'will be a key point of difference in building long-term customer loyalty.'
Now, though, Tesco plans to stop issuing vouchers at the end of next month, and customers will need to trade them in by September 30.T's really seem to be reigning it in now ehPlus the minimum spend of £40 for HD instead of £25 for the delivery saver
Morning all

I keep getting posts on my Facebook from friends with great offers which are obviously spam. How do I stop them0

I am here to post about glitches and find out about them from other like minded people. After all, that was the main reason the Elite thread was started wasn't it?
I do not go to threads about saving the world or raising a million pounds for charity or being superman or superwoman as even though they are admirable things to do or aspire to, they don't really interest me. However I am interested in shopping tips and glitches that save me and my family cash that we can then go on to use on other things.
So, I think it is good every so often to talk about how we might be able to help some of the worst off in society, even in a small way. If we all do a little bit here and there, no matter how small, it will definitely help someone out.
So, FC, rather than take the risk again in future of making yourself unpopular here, how about you don't snipe at the elite members and you don't try to big yourself up at every opportunity and you do go on to the mse Superheroes thread and discuss your amazing exploits with similarly minded superhumans like yourself..:D
at last someone with the "balls" to say what I have been thinking for quite a while but did not think it was my place as not a regular poster
I don't like myself for thinking like this but it has been going on far to long..
well said sfsb0 -
todays lunch thanks to W
I ADDED the sausage roll because my shopping would have been a till pingbut i chickened out
as i did not want to make the sa's wondering what to do.
i thought i had miss calculated when i had a whopping 69p to pay.
the sr had scanned at full price (reduced as was the pasty). so soon got a refund
so i ended up paying a more respectable 35p.
i do love the extra chosen 20% off items.
ive not been so lucky as some, but have told dw, she can have sushi for the next 2 weeks. (maybe on weekdays so i can get paper as well).0 -

I'm not sure how far Bangor is from you Rhos....but part of me wonders that the whole uni experience is one that young adults take away from home rather than going somewhere local.
We have an excellent uni very close to us that does the exact course DS1 wants next year, but he doesnt want to live at home or indeed within a few mile radius of us...and I can understand that....so he's hopefully results willing going to go 4 hours away to an equally good uni,the difference being its not on the doorstep.
Aside from the social side of uni life...it is a valuable lesson in growing and developing and one that many young people benefit from. Its a chance for independence and hopefully to learn life skills that you just dont get when you still live at home.
I never went to uni,nor wanted to but I actually think that in scrapping funding and making it difficult for making a choice based on wheres convenient rather than wheres best to study opens up a whole new debate of families supporting and funding their kids much later into life and denying them the experience of "flying the nest"
In your sons case though yes he wont be going to uni for a few years but I guess its good that he will have a bit of an insight into the workings of one, even if it isnt where he might eventually study....
good points never thought of it like that, ds3 thinks it should not just be the top few students that get the opportunity, its like saying the others might as well forget uni these are the only ones we want.
I never had the chance to go to uni or college so have supported the kids in what they wanted to do where ever it is, the girls both went to bangor uni its an hour away and they both stayed at home, their choice, ds3 at the moment says he is actually going there as well as it is a good uni for his choices, he also wants to stay at home as he can not imagine not being able to go horse, riding or kayaking every evening but things may change in a few years.0 -

Yes.You are right SFSB.I think it was a nice thought that people have worked out the implications of how the budget will effect them and realised that a lot of people will be far worse off than them.I don't do udis but I can't see any difference between giving them to a food bank and the suggestion that womens refuges might take the shortdated crisps.0 -
