I agree wit WIRS comment that budgeting lesson need to be taught. Maybe should come under national curriculum. I have bang head on wall moments when talking to people about finances and they are paying full sky or virgin subscriptions. The kids don't need it. They need quality family time. Plus everything you could possibly want to to watch is free on the Internet somewhere.

    Morning Peeps!

    Last week!.

Thanks to Martins campaigns, Financial Capability is taught in schools. As the 'Maths' teacher, I get to do it in my school.

The difficulty I have with my students is that they know the price of everything and the value of nothing! Everything has to be new, top of the range and full price, otherwise they will be ridiculed.

The other day I was trying to persuade one of the lads to hand over his phones to put in the safe. He was adamant he was keeping them on him. I pointed out that he was holding over £1000 in his hand and they needed to be locked away in school. His point of view was if they went missing, his Dad would buy him a new one!!!!!!!

When we were comparing the prices of shopping in different shops using Mysupermarket, lots of the kids commented that they wouldn't be seen dead in Aldi or Lidl. (The staff wern't much better!).

Despairing, but I will keep trying!!

    Happy Monday. HE x

    Hello TM. I have!

Had some great BBQ in TX, battled pigeons on the roof at our studio, interviewed a Texas Ranger, saw long horn cattle and deer, got propositioned by a toothless trucker in a lift, visited a spiritual community in NY and drank and ate way more than I should have :)

It was a stressful but also amazing time. Happy to be home though.

    Missing glitching!

Oh Emma Seriously you missed the gliching :rotfl: Quite rightly too There is no place like home

I hope you will have a wee bit of time to fill us in on your journeys I remember your excitement about Iceland It made interesting reading

Good morning all, raining here too.

At this rate I may have to mow the lawns again soon! At least it will save pulling the raspberry plants out of it, just mow them instead :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

So how come weeds grow so well without water :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Got another 3lbs of redcurrants off the bush yesterday, that is a total of more than 7lbs off one bush

    How are you lovely?

I'm good thanks, knee well on the mend, just started driving again, short distances for now. Jeez I ache after a 8 mile drive
There's no place like home :)

Feeling down? Weak in body? Makes no difference to me, I think of you all when I'm sitting quietly.

Hugs and healing thoughts are always going your way.

Good morning all, happy Monday from me too.

I'm off now for 2 weeks, so will be mostly trying to keep the kids from being bored.
