If prima facie one is not so compelled, then that alone would suffice.
Only until proved otherwise.......
"prima facie (Self-evident), adjective apparently, at first glance, at first sight, at first view, at sight, before further examination, by all appearances, on presentation, on the face of the matter, on the first view, ostensibly, seemingly, to all appearances"

You may well be in a good position in terms of job seeking for the new academic year.I'm a supply teacher,
According to an article in The Telegraph today, there is a growing teacher shortage, so much so that the Government is indicating that the newly retired from other professions might like to retrain!
Changes in the next academic year will require all children starting secondary education to study English, maths, science, a modern foreign language and either history or geography. This in turn will bring a demand for more teachers.0 -
Oh good, I have a stalker.[/B]

I'm so pleased someone was able to inform of me of developments in a sector I have trained for and worked in.0 -
Wait what? I don't understand why you are all so against a poor jobseeker standing up for themselves against a "employer" who wants 40 hours of unpaid training no expenses just so that you "may" get a job.
What? Hang on a mo, you are being very blinkered with this view, what else are you going to do apart from sitting down and taking it easy? Ok, a good job seeker will be looking for jobs but lets face it, that could be done outside of working hours. By all means, have that view but don't complain about your lack of success...0 -

I did not complain about my lack of success. I queried on whether there is any ground for anyone to force me to take unpaid training. What? Your views and others like it makes me think there are some right rightwing nutters here.0 -

Yeah? If you consider being able to see things from both sides and not the usual carp of how the employer is getting free labour...rightwing...ok! This can be beneficial for a job seeker regardless of whether a job is guaranteed.0 -
Oh good, I have a stalker.
Do I detect the whiff of one who does not like to be corrected?:)
And incidentally, to write a "legalistic" letter rather than one which "sets out the legal position" is hardly a matter for self congratulation?
Have a look at these synonyms:
legalistic
adjective hairsplitting, narrow, strict, contentious, literal, narrow-minded, polemical, litigious, disputatious his fussily legalistic mind0 -
I'm so pleased someone was able to inform of me of developments in a sector I have trained for and worked in.
Since you seemed to be having difficulty in finding a position, I thought I'd be helpful!
Alas for my good intentions! Alas that I'm so misunderstood!:eek:0 -

Most people would consider this a good thing, so I'm puzzled why you don't.
Because the company is quite possibly taking advantage by taking getting a weeks work out of people for free. Personally, I'd have an issue with doing this as well - any reputable company should pay. I'd be very suspicious if one that didn't.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0
