From the sounds of it it's nothing a mattress can fix. If he's had problems with his knees his back may well have been compensating for it, adding extra strain. If you've tried a 4000 pocket sprung mattress and there's still no luck I wouldn't imagine he'd get any better support elsewhere. Unless it was a super duper firm mattress. I hate the latest trend of stupidly firm mattresses. They cause more discomfort than they rectify half the time!Hi. I'm a Board Guide on the Gaming, Consumer Rights, Ebay and Praise/Vent boards. do you think a latex/tempur mattress would be worth tryingNice to save.0 -
do you have a double mattress? I know that my parents found that, for them, the solution was to get the kind where there are 2 separate mattresses -I think they zip together and you have a double topper on the top. It can be helpful to stop either of rolling towards the other. Is he any more comfortable if he sleeps alone?
I also agree that it would be sensible for your OH to do some research - can he think of anywhere he has slept where he didn't wake up stiff?
Look into types of bedframe and whether you are using the correct frame for the type of mattress.
Is he a restless sleeper? I usually move around a lot when I sleep, but if I am very tired I don't, and then I wake up very stiffAll posts are my personal opinion, not formal advice Always get proper, professional advice (particularly about anything legal!)0 -

No. Think of it as the following analogy: if you do not know how to play the guitar, you will not be able to play a song. It doesn't matter if you buy a more expensive guitar. It doesn't matter if it is made from nicer wood, or has nicer strings, or has a fancier amp connected to it. Until you actually learn to play you're going nowhere.
So until you find the cause of the backache you're not going to cure it no matter what mattress you buy! Going to a physio or getting a massage might help.
Does he have a desk job? Poor posture at a desk all day could well be the culprit.Hi. I'm a Board Guide on the Gaming, Consumer Rights, Ebay and Praise/Vent boards. Before getting another mattress, can you get him to visit a chiropractor who may sort the problem anyway?0

A new mattress won't help anything until he gets some proper medical input, so stop driving yourself crazy believing his problem is somehow yours to solve. It isn't and you can't!0

Hi
Can anyone recommend natural sleep? web address naturalsleep.co.uk. I was about to buy a latex mattress from them but thought I would do a bit of research on the company first. I cant find any independent reviews or information about them anywhere on the web. They supply mattresses for a company who manufactures in Bavaria. They seem good quality but I just want to be sure that natural sleep are a decent company before I part with my money. Thanks0
