    The 'new thread' button pictured is for the old format of the boards - if you are using he new format, then the button is in the bottom right of the board title banner, and says " + New Thread"

    This won't help OP, but Halifax royally messed us about applying POA. Took 2 hours to mess up, though we didn't realise how badly then. Lloyds, by contrast were peerless applying PoA and setting up online access for me to access my mother's account there and then, all accomplished in an hour.

    During conversations with a complaints dept of HBOS in Edinburgh, it seems their whole time was spent dealing with POA mistakes for the whole Lloyds group, so that's Halifax, Lloyds and Scottish Widows.
