I'm now looking into alternative companies at the airport having read reviews on goodle re Drivalia at Palma, absolutely shocking reading. Made my sphincter twitch so not sure its worth the risk for the cheap price.

Not for flights. Ticket prices can go up and down all the time, it's pointless complaining about it or asking airlines to "justify it". It's determined by supply and demand. If it upsets you to find out a flight you've booked has gone down in price later then don't check the prices.
Even better don't book easyjet. They have the biggest price swings. I've seen tickets go from over £500 down to about £100 shortly before the flight, because seats were still empty.

The EasyJet guide says the "Rufus Roo" is no longer available. I saw it on amazon here https://www.amazon.co.uk/Rufus-Roo-Large-Black-Logo/dp/B07GZXN13N/ref=cts_sp_1_vtp
    Is this the right thing?

"Yes, it really can be worth getting in the queue as soon as you can." Terrible idea.

It works if being in the same space as your luggage is so important to you. But the number of times I have seen the gate staff open up and then twiddle their thumbs for 20-30 mins while something going on in the aircraft goes .. on and on ... This happens almost inevitably with short haul flights where a flight turns round several times a day.

Meanwhile 150 people stand there getting hacked off. I, however, am sitting comfortably enough, waiting till I see the last 5 people approach the desk.

I'm quite happy to let someone else schlep my case and put it in the hold. I prefer that. If you do, stay seated till last knockings.

[I can understand that people who need the stuff that goes along with having small children might not really have much choice]

Packing tips: The photographer's fave - if you are wearing it, it's not luggage. I'm retired now. I can't have a pile of aluminium flight cases stowed in the hold and write off the o/wt on expenses.

But I do still take pictures - old photographers never die. They just carry less and less gear. I have a light safari jkt absurdly too large for me - chest 56" or so. I distribute hardware in the many capacious pockets of this jkt and wear it over my 'real clothes'! As 'real clothes' always includes a jkt of some sort, yet more pockets for stuff. That safari jkt has paid for itself time and again. Being ridiculously large it was on sale 1/2 price anyway! A real MSE number.

Booked flights this morning for half term to Innsbruck. Hubby and had phones on the app and website. 6am on the dot the website updated and by 6:03am we had booked four flights, they did go up £47 between going through the booking details from when I clicked on them, which is annoying they do that, but I am very happy with the £1150 which are now £2774 for the same flight.

There is limited flights from Bristol so worth getting up extra early to make sure I was ready.

I did my research and looked at other airlines flying into Munich but BA, KLM and Lufthansa all from LHR are over £3K each.

Does the website always update at 6 am?

And is it possible to know the exact release date?

Because I wanted to book a flight which was supposed to be released April, checked at the beginning of the month (1st, 2nd and 3rd), and it wasn't out yet. And when I checked a couple of days later, it had gone up almost £200 (almost triple the price)

easyJet publish the release dates on their website and it's also usually here on MSE too.

It's not necessarily 6:00am on the dot. I had a couple of alerts set up and received text messages and emails at 05:24 and 05:25 for Route 1 and 05:26 and 05:34 for Route 2 respectively.

    Booking acknowledgement received at 05:44.
