    Hi

I've just booked 2 adults and 1 child (age 5) to travel to DLP from 22nd to 27th August. We were thinking of purchasing the 4 day tickets as it appears to be the same cost as 3 days tickets. However, the prices go up on 28th March! Anyone know if this will be my cheapest option??

Also, could anyone suggest any hotels? I think DLP ones maybe too expensive for us. I was looking at Kyriad DLP and a couple near there which offer breakfast and free shuttle around the £550 mark for that period. Alternative I saw a couple close to Torcy where I'd have to go on the Metro.

What would be the most convenient and cost effective option? Torcy ones are cheaper as guess further away. Where would be best to have dinner? At the park or back near the hotel as I'm guessing we maybe at the park til quite late...

    Would love any tips generally!

    Thanks in advance

    from an excited

I would buy fantasy annual passes from cemultiavantages or promoparcs instead of park hopper tickets - because your 5-year old would get a free annual pass from either of those companies. Fantasy passes are currently 125 euros each with either of those companies.
Check DLRPMagic for all the advantages of being an annual pass holder -

You don't need to be so far out as Torcy to get a good deal on a hotel near DLP. Did you check travelrepublic and expedia for the area? val d'europe is one 5-minute train stop away from the gates of the park, there are loads of options there ie the Adagio apartments for your dates is £408 on travelrepublic, the sejours et affaires aparts are £345 etc.

The main park at DLP is open until after 11pm every night in August, so you could plan to be at DLP for 8am and the quietest 2 hours of the park day (if you have fantasy passes you get Extra Magic Hours regardless of where you are staying) then after lunchtime take time out back at your apartment in the afternoons when the parks are at their busiest, eat in val d'europe (much cheaper than the Disney resort) then come back into DLP for the evening.
  • Hi Balletshoes,

Thanks for your detailed response and will look at the sites you've suggested as have only looked at booking.com for hotels so far. Although it is important we have breakfast includedwith our accomodation ruling apartments out (unless there were cafes next to it).

However, I looked at the DLRP magic site you suggested but couldn't find anything about kids aged 5 going free, only under 3s. Could you point it out where you saw this?

    Thanks in advance!

Breakfast is continental only at the majority of hotels around dlp and there ate bakeries and cafes as well as a huge supermarket near the train station at val d,europe. the free annual pass for your 5 year old is a long term offer with either cemultiavantages or promoparcs, when you buy an annual pass from either of those companies.

Thanks once again balletshoes! I will definitely buy an annual pass and will try to go again next year too!

Ok, I would love to hear pros and cons for anyone who's stayed in any of my short listed hotels for my DLP hol between 22 and 27 August. I'll be there with DH and DD who is 5 so just need one room. We will also be arriving by .Eurostar from London.

I've decided for a hotel in Val D'Europe purely due to location plus being close to restaurants.

    1) Ibis - cheapest hotel. Next to station but no shuttle £264

    2) Adagio - next cheapest via booking.com. Offers free shuttle too £411

    3) L'Elysee - most expensive £489 but good reviews and also free shuttle.

I guess being in there in Aug, we would travel back to hotel for dinner and may go back in evening providing DD isn't knackered!

I thought I'd buy Carnet of RER tickets whilst there unless there is a better option.

How did you find the hotel?

    Any tips??

    Thanks

Is it the Ibis budget? I've stayed there (not stayed in the others). My daughter loved the Ibis budget because the room configuration means she had a single bed bunked over the double bed :). It was very clean, the bathroom is a cabin-type affair though ie its all one small wetroom with shower and toilet in it, with an opaque glass door, in a corner of the bedroom. The rooms are small but if you're just using the room to sleep and shower, its fine. The Ibis hotel is next door to the Ibis budget, and the rooms are slightly bigger.

Its in a fab position too - in a little courtyard with 3 or 4 other hotels, at the back of the train station, literally 2 minutes walk from the train platform taking you to and from DLP.

The L'Elysee and Adagio are a few minutes walk from the front of the train station. In August because you have 5 days I might go for the Adagio because you have an outdoor pool there.

Yes, I'd go for the carnet of 10 adult tickets, it saves you 20% on buying single journey tickets as and when you need them. Your 5-year old is half price on the RER (I guess you could get a carnet of childrens tickets too if you asked at the manned ticket booths).

    hey

was reading your post so thought i might be able to help. I am also planning a trip to DLP for june. but with a four year old and a 4 month old baby off site in self catering appartment in val d'europe has been best option. anyhoo sorry to bore you but the reason i wanted to reply to your query was have you thought about getting an annual pass. these work out far cheaper then buying the 4day park tickets even if your not planning on going again in a year they work out cheaper bcuz you can use your annual pass to get discounts in some restaurants and shops in the disney village. For more info check out dlrpmagic.com (lots and lots of useful info on all things disneyland paris)

and trip advisor for more information about hotels.

Hope you have a great holiday x
  • lol just saw all the more recent replys to chotis orignal post so most of the info has already been given to you and in much more detail lol. seeing as your only deciding about hotels now i would definitely look on tripadvisor for that it really helps when you are trying to narrow down between different hotels.
  • hi ballet shoes
maybe you can help me out with my disney planning.

we are planning to in the first couple of weeks of june to celebrate my daughter 4th bithday. seeing as shes in nursery and my othe LO is only 2 months old we can be quite flexible. Ive got a good deal on flights which are 298 for all four us from birmingham. their might be cheaper ones out there but this is most suitable as a) i live in b;ham and b) going with airfrance our luggage allowance is alot bigger which we need with LO esp the baby.

For accomadation we are planning to stay at hipark in val d'europe and going to buy annual passes.

my main question is what would you suggest as the most cost effective, reliable and hassle-free method of transport from airport to hotel and vice versa.

and secondly are there many rides in the park that a 4 year old would enjoy and also are there any rides that are suitable for a baby.

Finally like many likkle girls my DD is princess mad. Would love to have lunch at auberges for her b'day, but the menu is fine dining and being muslim we are on a halal specific dining.the price for auberges is quite alot would it be worth it even if we werent going to eat much as theres not much of a variety in the vegetarien options. Can you suggest alternative charecter meals. all help is much appreciated.
