Hi there. Sat for hours and read this thread! Wow!
Not sure on all the shortenings but done my best.
Me my husband and two daughters, 6 and 4 are heading to dlp for 4 nights on 20th march! So excited!
Soooo sorry if this been over repeated but am I right in thinking park closes at 8, dreams starts at 8, parade starts at 5? Are the parades the same each afternoon??
Also when people mention the village, is this the Disney village with Main Street?? With all the shops etc?? And am i right in thinking disney village is still on dlp site?! Sorry if I sound silly. Got board plus vouchers so for evening meal I wanted to go to restaurants etc but concerned I want to see the parade and the dreams so wanted to eat around 5.30-6 but read part of park closes around 4?? Just panicking thinking there will be no restaurants open?? Hope I make sense!!!
I've bought Disney dress up to take with me as both girls are mad for it! I wondered how much more expensive toys/souvenirs/teddies etc are? Obv it's Disney so fair bit more than uk but some horror stories I've heard then others say not that much more?!
Another thing, I'm pregnant.....does this mean mam is going to miss out on everything????
Staying in sequoia lodge and so excited. Any general tips or advice is greatly welcome and I hope I make sense!!!
From a very excited mam!!!0 -

yes thats right - and yes, same parades each day.

The Disney Village is part of the resort, but its not in either of the parks at DLP. You don't need a park ticket to enter the Disney Village, it has shops and restaurants, and they are all open later than the parks are each evening (the shops and restaurants in the Disney Village are open until after 11pm each night). You'll see the Disney Village on your way in and out of the parks. Main St Usa is in the main park at DLP. There may not be many options open for you to use your half board plus vouchers in the park for dinner after the parade, possibly only the Plaza Gardens buffet. But you can use the vouchers in the Village restaurants, and in the onsite hotel restaurants too. Part of the park doesn't close at 4pm, but a lot of the table/buffet service restaurants in the parks do.

I think its a lot more - dress-up dresses start at around 55 euros at DLP, and go up from there. Keyrings, pens, etc etc are around 4 euros a piece.

I think you'll probably be advised against most of the rides to be honest.

Hi. Thank you for all your help and advice. Makes it all clearer now!!!
We've got our transfers sorted as wall included in the package. once landed, will I find the bus/coach ok?! Usually we all go as an extended family abroad so we just follow everyone else and now I'm party leader lol xx0 -
Hi
I am going on the 18th March to the sequoia lodge hotel could anyone tell me the time slots they usually do breakfast?
I am slightly worried as we get in on the Monday afternoon and with the disney express service we were hoping to go straight into the park for a while but I have a diabetic little boy who will need breakfast as soon as he's up.
If I don't check into the hotel till later say 6/7pm the early breakfast slots may be gone. Does anyone know if you are able to book earlier breakfast slots without checking in?
I've booked through disney but Im not sure if it possible to speak directly to the hotel.
Thanks x0 -

yes, you should find it okay - look for the VEA navettes sign in the arrival area of the terminal building once you are through security and have picked up your luggage.0 -

I wouldn't worry - if you want an early slot (ie before 7.30am) I'm sure you'll get one no problem - as thats the quietest time to go have breakfast at any of the onsite hotels. Even if the actual slot is gone, you can go to breakfast any time you like, regardless of what timeslot you've been given. The onsite hotels serve breakfast each morning from 7am to 11am.
If you have any special requests, you can email Disney on
DLP.GUEST.COMMUNICATION@disney.com
and let them know your concerns, and what would suit you best. Include your Disney booking number and lead name on the email, so they can easily find your booking and make notes as appropriate.0 -
sorry to be a pain, but i can't trawl through the entire thread as that'll take forever but have a sister who wants to take their son to the DLP but there are a no. of factors involved. hope you can bear with me on this.
sister is taken aback by Disney's prices stating £1100 or £1300 for 2 or 3nts for an outside and on site hotel package for Aug. she wants to go via Eurostar as feels that travelling by plane via Bristol/B'ham and then shuttle/train to site will be difficult and wants the ease of going down straight onto DLP's doorstep. I told her that it's a stupid price and doing it separately is the best way. Can anyone help me with this please.
She's going down with partner and their 8yo son. Son isn't very fond of rides (scares easily!) and isn't that overly excited for Disney stuff except for Buzz Lightyear (rather old-hat now as he's more into Lego). Is there much point in this holiday if son isn't bothered about Disney and all it's characters. Are there still enough stuff/activities that he can do without the rides? I'd say, personally, she should try a different holiday place if son isn't that enamoured - what do you guys think? although, she's quite keen to go and to pay that price if she can't get it cheaper anywhere else. she wants a hotel at least 4 stars though.
Sister is also keen on decent quality food and are there enough choices out there for her w/o resorting to junk food?
As it's in August, I'd expect the place will be rammed and the queues forever long and time-wasting, is that true? what are the averages of times, would you say?
If an outside hotel, are any recommended ones that are within walking distance to the site and in a decent area with restaurants and shops?
sorry for all these questions. hope someone can help soon as sister is quite keen to book (she reckons booking this early will be the cheapest option!)
thanks in advance..0 -
Honestly, if he's not into Disney or rides, I think its a waste of money. August, as you say, will be rammed - on a typical August day you're talking at least 60 minute queues for most of the rides (some will reach 2 hours).
There aren't any hotels offsite which are within easy walking distance (the nearest ones are around 25 minutes walk). There are 2 four star hotels with free shuttle buses, these are the Magic Circus and Dream Castle hotels. There are also 4 star hotels in val d'europe, which is one train stop away from the gates of DLP. Yes, your sister would be much cheaper doing it all separately and staying offsite (if you look back just over the last couple of pages of this thread you'll see posts of mine about annual passes as park entry tickets).
No, food and restaurant service is not top notch at DLP, again, your sister would have to leave the Disney bubble and head for val d'europe to get consistent decent French food and service.
If he's more into Lego, I'd consider a trip to Legoland for your sister's family instead.
Unless the price your sister is seeing for the whole package is for the Disneyland Hotel itself, I'd say don't book a package, source it all separately instead.0 -
thanks for that balletshoes, I just wanted to gain some "hard evidence" for her to give her a 2nd opinion in light of all the negatives that she's given me. She did originally quote me £1500 and £2000 that she was umming and arring about and thought best to tell me her latest news and with those prices, I told her she might as well spend that much in Florida and have a better time out there for a few quid more (she replied if its Florida, she'd rather take a min. 10 days to justify the length of travel time but of course, she can't spare the time off).
So, the odds are stacked against her reasoning on this but I do think she'll go for the onsite package as she really isn't confident about catching buses/trains etc.,
re. the prices quoted, I'm not sure whether it's a Disneyland Hotel (most likely) but if the food isn't good nosh, then I'm sure she and OH won't be happy there.
Just looked at the Legoland in DK thread on here and someone said it's just like a Legoland in the UK except with different models. He's been to Windsor site already so I don't think a trip to a different country will justify the price though - what do others think (i know.. this ques. should be on a different thread!)
My DD has been to DLP a year ago and she wouldn't recommend this to her nephew either. She said it's it's like a normal theme park with Disney branded all over the place, nothing special.0 -

no, I meant The Disneyland Hotel - the only true 4 star hotel thats onsite, right at the entrance to the main park at DLP. Thats the most expensive hotel in the resort.

we all have different opinions - but I don't agree that DLP is like a normal theme park - I can't spend longer than about 4 hours maximum in theme parks here in the UK, but I go for days at a time to DLP and never leave the resort.
But its for lovers of Disney, theres no doubt about that, and DLP is expensive, especially if you pay through the nose for a package.0
