  • I would be very grateful for some help. I would like to take my two year old granddaughter to dip on 4th December overnight to see parade and castle light up, then mickey cafe the next day. She's not keen on rides etc. wbherse best to book. I would like to travel on Eurostar. Any help would be gratefully received thank you for reading x
  • We returned from Disneyland yesterday, this was our 4th visit and i'm not sure if things were as good as they used to be.
I'm disabled and in a wheelchair, i'm sure other disabled users will know you get an easy access pass from city hall, which i did.
My number one ride has to be Peter Pan, unfortunatly due to new safty rules if you are in a wheelchair and able to transfer to the ride you are no longer allowed on it as you have to be able to evacuate the ride if it breaks down which can include climbing down a 3M high ladder. Secondly on our second day there were 6 rides closed as well as one not working properly.
There seemed much less staff than there were in past years. The parade was excellant as always although there was only one as the evening one didn't take place as it was fireworks and projected images on the castle which was truly amazing.
I would add if you are in a wheelchair make sure you face the castle for this as you view can get totally blocked.
We bought our tickets from FNAC and they were really good on price and you don't have to wait to redeem them you just hand them over at the gate, really easy.
We stayed at the Adagio which is only ten minutes away from Disney and there is a shuttle bus, it was a good price , and very close to Val de Europe so great for eating out and the supermarket.
We filled up with fuel at Carrefour in Calais, at the moment Diesel is 1.35 euro's a litre. At this station and the one at Val de Europe you can only pay by card and its worth noting that the max you can fill up is 120 euro's and it takes this amount off your card regardless of how much you put in. Then when it goes through which in my case was 2 days later it puts the rest back on your card and only charges you the amount you used in fuel.
Ok but a bit of a shock if you aren't expecting it!

Tolls weren't to bad, on the road from Calais to Serris it was spread over 2 tolls, first was 17.90 Euro's and the second was 80c. Coming back we missed the 80c one but had to pay 21.90c on the second.
Hope this has given some help to anyone just about to take a trip to Disney. :)

Hi, has anyone any idea if they'll be any offers on for April stays when dates are released next week? I'm thinking about booking euro star now while it's cheap, then hotel next week!
Is mid April a good time to go? Taking our lg who will be just under 2 at the time for 3 nights!

check the UK, French, and if you can, Italian and Spanish school holidays. If some or most of these are off when you intend being in DLP, it will make it a busy time there.

I don't think I've ever booked my travel and hotel for DLP at the same time, I decide when I want to go, book travel when theres a deal for that, and the hotel when I see a price I like for that ie I booked my next DLP trip hotel 2 or 3 months ago, and I booked my flights earlier this evening.

    Hi all

Would appreciate some help - we have never been to DLP but would like to go for New Year, and would like to combine the visit to DLP and Paris for New Year celebrations. There is me, my hubby and 8 year old daughter and we would be going from Salisbury. Not sure how long to go for as it is our first visit and whether to stay in Disney hotel or not (considering our wish to do a day trip or 2 to Paris so nearby public transport would be advantage). My budget is £1000 and that is to cover everything: hotel, tickets and travel (plane/self drive/etc). Is it possible and what would be your reccomendations?
Not too fussed about seeing and breathing Disney Characters in hotel as will hopefully see them at the park and although it would be nice to have a swimming pool (daughter loves splashing about) I imagine we will not have time to do much relaxing so the hotel should only be for hitting the bed for a few hours of rest.

    Many thanks in advance :)

to be perfectly honest I wouldn't go at New Year with a child. It will be absolutely rammed by early evening on New Years Eve. You'll get much much more for your money looking at February or May half term instead.

so how many days park tickets do you think you'll want? Cafe Mickey isn't in the parks, its in the Village, so you don't need park tickets to go there. However, if you take the direct Eurostar you'll arrive at around 2pm on your first day, and you won't leave until around 6pm on your 2nd day. The parks open at 10am each day, so you could see quite a lot if you have 2-day park tickets.

For one night check Expedia - they are best for the DLP hotels (for example the Santa Fe or the Cheyenne for that night are £64 total for the night, this includes breakfast but no park tickets).

The Eurostar site is the best place to look for the Eurostar fares for you both.
  • Been waiting for today for the new offers to come out for the spring and they're no good for me :-(. I want 3 nights/4 days and the offer is 2 free nights/days when you book at least 2 nights/3 days and so is effectively for a minimum of 4 nights/5 days! Guess I'll have to wait for more offers.
  • The sale is looking perfect for me as planning to go for 4 nights in May. :j

Just a bit of advice please, I have a 6 year old DD and cant make up my mind between Newport Bay Club and Sequoia Lodge, does anyone think one is better than the other for a 6 year old? Also is the Admiral Floor really worth it at Newport Bay?

    Thank you :)

I would always pick the Sequoia Lodge over the Newport Bay :). The Sequoia Lodge has just been fully refurbished, the Newport Bay needs one and is next on the list but won't be done until 2014. The Newport Bay is a huge hotel (when it was built it was the largest hotel in Europe) and so is generally a lot busier around the restaurants, bar, gift shop etc compared to the Sequoia Lodge. They are the same distance from the parks.
There are no real perks for Admirals floor anymore at the Newport Bay, it just means you are in the main body of the hotel on the higher floors.

Thanks Balletshoes, I've seen a few reviews on The Newport Bay that said it was dated, so Looks like Sequoia Lodge for us :j
