  • Am looking to visit DLP for the first time next year and have found what I think is a good deal - what do you think?

In the june half term week, for a 3 day, 2 night stay at the cheyenne for 2 adults and a 7 & 5 year old I have a price of £442+ cc fee. Will book eurostar separately to save on cost. I think this is reasonable for one of the disney hotels, in school hols when it should be warm. Any advice on how to bring the cost down further? Will look at meal plans nearer the time as confused enough as it is!!

yes thats an okay price for may half term :). Have you checked the room type to see if changing that brings down the price a little? Also it might be worthwhile looking at the French version and the Irish version of the DLP site, and pricing up your trip there too (different countries get different discounts).
  • Thanks balletshoes, I already changed the room type as it was £17 more. Will try the other versions of the sites but not sure how the fees for paying in euro's will stack up against any savings.

will you be charged a fee for paying in euros from your bank?
  • Bit silly, I assumed so, not really sure how things work and how they would sting you on exchange rate conversion. I'll look into it thanks x

its not a bad price - have you looked at 2 rooms at the Santa Fe instead, going for 4nights/5days? The onsite rooms have a 50% off deal (2nights and 2days free when you pay for 2 nights/3days) plus all under-12s free. This might work out at more or less the same price, and you'd have an extra night and day's holiday.

What dates were you looking at?
  • i am looking at 13 - 16 feb due to flights
never looked at 2 rooms, assumed it would cost more!
thanks. am off to have a look

go onsite :). You can walk from the Santa Fe or the Cheyenne to the parks, so you don't have to rely on the shuttle buses. You can ask for breakfast in the park instead of at your hotel (a free service) if you stay at the Santa Fe and Cheyenne. And most important of all, you get Extra Magic Hours access to the main park every morning from 8am til 10am if you stay at an onsite hotel, you don't get this at the Explorers.

Check the room type when looking at the Santa Fe or Cheyenne, you might be able to get it a little cheaper (the DLP site automatically defaults to an upgraded room, but theres no reason to pay extra for this at the Santa Fe or Cheyenne, as the room facilities etc are all exactly the same).

One more thing that might make a difference when deciding between the Santa Fe and the Cheyenne - the Santa Fe rooms typically have 2 double beds in each room, the Cheyenne typically has one double and one set of bunks in each room.

You don't get a pool at the Santa Fe or Cheyenne, but to be honest in February are you likely to use it?

In my opinion, the onsite option is better value for money.
