We are driving from Lancashire to DLP for the June half term week..... Have got the disney side of things booked and will be staying at Santa Fe Mon-Thurs then managed to get free sky tickets for the Friday, so have booked the explorers for the Thurs & Fri night.

We are driving there and taking the ferry on Saturday 2nd June and would like to stay near Paris for the Sat 2nd & Sun 3rd nights. Any ideas for a hotel near Paris not too far off the main calais - DLP route? Looking for somewhere close to the Metro so then we can spend the Sunday in Paris, but don't really want to drive into the city centre. Hotel would need to have parking and a room to fit 2 adults and 2 children (3 & 6 years). Had a quick look at formule1 and etap, but they only seem to do rooms for upto 3 people. Can anyone offer any advice or suggestions?

have you tried the Premier Classe or B&B (this is a chain) hotels websites? These are similar to Etap/Formula 1, but have family rooms/rooms for 4 also.

eta - the Accor hotels website includes several chains of hotels, including the Etap and formula 1, they may have alternative hotels in the area you're looking at?

I dont know why anyone had food taken off them, but others from our hotel said that they probably had too much food as disney does not allow picnicing. We had both our rucksacks searched and it was noticed that we had food with us, one guard said we had a look but let us through. We also had spare panys in a carrier bag in the rucksack and had to open the bag so it could be searched.

We still took snacks the next day but not as many. we had filled the boys water bottles with juice but these werent checked.

Hi. We're stopping off at Disney on the way down to Spain in the summer. We've only got the one day there, courtesy of Sky, and I was wondering if anyone would be kind enough to offer some advice on what is worth doing in that short space of time. It's me, the hubby and 2 boys 8 and 6. We can be at the park earlyish as we've got a hotel in Val d'Europe for 2 nights, so arriving the night before, full day in park and back to hotel for the night before carrying on south. Any tips greatly appreciated.

My boys are nearly 7 and 5 and they loved the buzz lightyear ride and autopia both in discoveryland.

They also loved the shows especially stitch live and cinemagic

We take in bottles of coca cola, crisps, tubes of pringles, chocolate, sandwiches/wraps in tinfoil or bags, for 5 of us, for all day, without anyone batting an eyelid. All in one rucksack, so that's about all that's in it. No problems, and no comments at all yet. And we've passeport annuals, and been for weeks.

Thunder Mountain, fast pass it, and do the Pirates ride while your waiting. If you can fit in Peter Pan, that's a good ride. See it you can get an early fast pass for that, or a late one if you can't.

Guess we were just unlucky. when we go again we are going to take food in, I was very surprised at how thoroughly the bags were searched - the day we arrived the bags were just put through an x ray machine no manual searching but other times we had to open and empty any bags

My last post was meant to say pants for the boys not panys!

They search us, and always have a good poke about, torches in the corners etc, but I've always said we could have anything in the foil packets, it's always sandwiches, could be semtex for all they care though, they never look inside the packets.

They're not searching for food during the bag checks but anything that could be used as a weapon etc however glass bottles will be taken off you.
