  • Hi All

This is a great thread full of useful information.

I don't know if i'm missing something but I hear a lot of people say that it is cheaper to book a partner hotel rather than going directly with Disney, all the quotes and research i've done is proving the opposite?

I've looking at 4 Nights / 5 Days in September for 2 Adults and 1 Child (4) and its coming in at £550 for the Hotel / Passes would I be able to get it cheaper elsewhere?

    Kind Regards

its not always cheaper offsite - it depends on what offers are available from Disney for the onsite hotels.

you might be able to do it cheaper though going offsite and buying your own annual passes.

However, with a 4-year old you would get the childs annual pass free when buying an adult one, through either cemultiavantages or promoparcs. so for 2 adult fantasy passes and one free childs that would be around 238 euros total from cemultiavantages. then you look at the offsite hotels through travelrepublic/expedia/alpharooms/hotels.com etc etc. if you find 4 nights bed & breakfast comes to less than £300, then thats a significant saving over the onsite deal (plus because you have annual passes, you wouldn't need to pay for park tickets at all on any further trips you make to DLP until September 2013 :)).

if you do go down the fantasy pass route, check DLRPMagic for any blockout dates (these are dates where you can't use the annual pass as a park entry ticket).

Hi we went for 5 nights so 6 days in the park, a lot of people used the emh for either getting fastpasses or for doing the tram and fire engine in the mainstreet.

We took a card from the post office with us, loaded it with euros, got some cash out from there with that, you can top it up on line etc, we didnt need too, found some bits reasonable, some of the toys and t shirts about same or cheaper, some bits a lot more expensive, worth visiting a disney store before hand to get a rough idea of prices, we got ds as a treat a cars suitcase, it was £30 here in our disneystore, over there it was £45 lol, the dress up is expensive there too. We took £500 for our 6 days and had about £100 left over afterwards but we where half board

As I may have mentioned a few times, Im off to the magic next week :D just writing out my list of things to bring and it seems like there are things missing. Used all you tips last visit and it seemed to have alot more bits on it (long thrown out that list). Besides basics like clothes/ toileties/ meds etc can you please tell me if anything obvious is missing from this list?

    plug adaptor
    phone charger
sandwich bags (to grab some sncks from breakfast)
flask (as suggested by lipstick for my eye meds)
mug (for tea in my room)
    teabags
    sugar
    snacks
    squash/juice
    dress up outfits
    umbrellas

Realised Blue Lagoon is going to be shut when I'm there! I'm such an idiot... arghhh. Oh well... I'll ring up and check as POTC is open on the 17th & 18th so it could be open, but think I'll book restaurants soon so it's all sorted and one less thing to worry about.

That'd be a nightmare if you had! I'll be dragging my suitcase out tomorrow and putting mine in. Last thing you want to leave eh.

Ds saw my stash of tea bags, sugar sachets etc all bagged up... the smart sod told me that I'd forgot a spoon. :D
There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.
