The sink is also what I was thinking although didnt realise they had an ice machine too - that will really help. Loks like this is the only option. Damn eye - its had all year to mess up and it chooses just before we go lol. Might ask around family and see if anyone has one of those small fridges and see if theres anyway I can fit it in my case. Thanks Balletshoes

Perhaps use a flask with some ice and water in?

This sounds like a really good idea. Was actually wondering what I would do when I wanted to wash in the morning if I was using the sink lol. Thanks Lipstick.

    Hi

Cowboy cookout is fab, we did it 3 times in our 6 days, kids loved it, usually out was micky, minnie, goofy, pluto, woody and then 1 other, we had eeyore or rabbit.

We did half board but must of had a good deal on it, it cost us £358 for 5 days for 5 of us, works out about £14 per person per meal, we found this a saving as most of the time the reciept came to more then the meak voucher cost, at cowboy cook out you also get a voucher back for a drink from casy corner, usefull for hot choc for parade. I think it depends on the half board on how and where you use them. We also made reservations before we went, so always know when we where eating.

I can recomend getting a bladder for your rucksacks, we got ours from tescos, they are a bag that goes in your rucksack, and it has a long straw attachment,a hose with a valve on the end. We found that a 2 litre one was enough for us each day, but it was cold. we did get odd looks with it as it went through the x ray machine into the park each day lol

Im going to the Cowboy Cookout for the first time this visit. Glad to hear you liked it soo much. Cant wait now :)

Just wondering about the cowboy cookout character meal - on the dlp magic site it says it'll be pastries. So I'm guessing it's just sweet things or has it changed?

Another question - As you enter the park on main street, can you go into Frontierland just past the city hall by turning left, or do you have to walk down to the central plaza and use the main entrance? I want to get to BTM as fast as possible LOL.

I'm reading this, about getting there quickly, and looking at this map. Is the quick route mentioned just under number 6 or am I reading it wrong?

there are 2 character meals at the Cowboy cookout each day. From noon until 3pm its a character lunch (counter service, tex mex). From 4.30pm until 6pm its the character tea party (pastries, sweets, puddings).

yes, the quickest way to BTM from the entrance to the main park is to walk through the left hand side arcade (the Liberty arcade), when you reach the top of the arcade turn left and keep walking, keeping left - this takes you out at the Lucky Nugget saloon :) in Frontierland.

Thanks balletshoes, you've been a great help, and it's much appreciated!

Will do the Cookout at noon then, ds doesn't eat much so I don't want him filling up on sweet stuff - plus I really like tex mex lol.

One more question... do you think I'll be quicker running to BTM with ds under my arm, or in his pram?? :D

I'm sure I'll have some more 'serious' questions for this thread soon! x

this might be a silly question, but why do you want to run to BTM at all? Don't get me wrong, I love BTM, but we just walk to the fastpass machine in the morning if thats our first ride of the day. You usually get a FP time for around 10.30 at 10am, no queuing at all, so we go to POTC first, then come back and walk all the way through the fastpass line at BTM and often straight onto a train at 10.30am :). Although we might ride BTM half a dozen times a day, I rarely go through the regular queue line (and will only do so if the wait time posted is 15 minutes or less), the fastpass line works incredibly well on this ride.

I've never attempted running to BTM with a 4-year old, so can't tell you which way would be better for you.

I was kidding. ;) Guess I'm trying to show my eagerness at getting ds on a roller coaster. It'll probably scare him half to death tho and he'll refuse to go on anything else lol.

BTM and POTC are both closed on the last day so wanted to get them done early and grab a fast track if he liked them enough to go on again. That'd then leave the rest of the time at our leisure, and I'm guessing ds will be tired at some point so he'll need a nap.

Are all the rides etc open in the EMH?

no, there are actually very few rides open during EMH, but the ones which are open are the ones which get very busy for little ones in the main park day.

They are - in Fantasyland -
    Peter Pans flight
    Teacups
    Carousel
    Dumbo
and sometimes either Pinocchio or Snow White rides.

    In Discoveryland, its
    Buzz lazer blast,
    Orbitron
    Space Mountain
    Star Tours (I think).

the other 2 lands are not open during EMH.

you can do both Peter Pan and Buzz with fastpass after 10am, but usually in EMH you want to do Dumbo first (as it gets queues even in EMH time) and then your choice of what you want to do really.

eta - you might not have been kidding about running to BTM - as thats exactly what I see people doing at ropedrop at 10am every time we're in that area lol!

Ah, that puts a different slant on it then. I wondered why I'd wrote 'BTM Fast pass not EMH' on my list lol. I'm not keen on rides that spin around like the teacups lol. I may risk them if I've not eaten recently! Also ds is small so can't go on space mountain.

That doesn't leave a lot left really.. peter pan, star tours, buzz are the main ones. That means we might get a lay in one morning then if we've done most of those EMH rides.

I can imagine people get rather excited about rushing to be on the rides. :D I'd rather take in the surroundings as well with it being my first trip.
