another question about the explorer hotel, do they have a kettle in the room, if not will pack a travel one and tea lol. We have been told that our luggage will go straight to hotel so will check that lol.

Cant wait getting excited, only 32 more sleeps lol

yes, they do have a kettle and cups in the rooms in the Explorers, you get a welcome pack of teabags, coffee sachets etc, to start you off but I think they charge to refill. I always take my own coffee etc.

As Balletshoes said generally it works out cheaper to book separately.
Re difference in hotels, I have only stayed at Santa Fe so far (going to Cheyenne myself in March) so dont have 1st hand experience, but can tell you that all I have read (on offical sites plus reviews etc) state that are exactly the same (in terms of facilities etc) but they just have different themes; Cheyenne has a wild west theme and Santa Fe has a Mexican theme. Also Cheyenne is a tad more expensive - Im assuming its because its like 1 min closer to the park itself. That said its only a 10 min walk from Santa Fe anyway (9 mins from Cheyenne lol) and its a nice walk along the river.

Reception areas in the Cheyenne are a bit more comfortable and cosier than Sante Fe and the room buildings have a nicer look to them from the outside. I agree with the nice walk along the river we sometimes took the shuttle first thing but always walked back of an afternoon.

I havent stayed in either hotels so cant tell you which is better but about your concerns I can tell you that although the Disneyland hotel is literally right at the parks entrance the Hotel New York is only another 4 minutes walk away. The new york is about 3 mins from the train station and there really is no need to use the shuttle bus. I understand (others will correct me if Im wrong) but for a small price - think it was £16 or there abouts your cases can get transfered from the train station to any hotel so you wont need to struggle yourself. Not sure if characters are about more in Disneyland hotel but as I understand they do an apperance in every on-resort hotel in the morning. Im sure I read on here that in the afternoon on the weekends they do another little meet and greet/ show in Disneyland hotel but anyone can go in and watch anyway. My opnion, having seen how close the New york is anyway is its not worth it if you are thinking about just the hassle. Hope this helps

You can pop into any of the resort hotels when the characters are about, Cheyenne had a photo point outside every morning but in the evenings the characters came out to play in the lounge area as they do in Disneyland Hotel and the New York. From memory there are signs up in the hotels giving times when you can expect to see them.

    Hi

Just a couple of questions for now. Does Santa Fe provide kettle and cups and anything else? Going for 4 nights/3 days.

Are there any attractions suitable for myself and my son (4) that you don't really have to queue for? Going in March.
There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.

no, you have to pay a deposit to hire the kettle and you will be charged 6 euros for a pack of teabags, coffee etc. take your own kettle and hot drinks (we usually take those vending cups you can get in packs of 8 from the pound shops).

use fastpass for Peter pans flight, Buzz lightyears lazer blast, and Big Thunder Mountain. Do EMH for Dumbo, as it gets queues all day really after 10am. Do the Toy Story Playland rides in the last hour of the studios day, or the first half hour (try getting to the studios at 9.30am as often some of the rides are open from this time). Pirates of the Caribbean is usually a walk-on or less than a 15-minute line.

the shows in the studios don't need you to queue for more than about 5 minutes before show start time.

you'll be fine :), and I wouldnt imagine it would be that busy on your first couple of days (but you will need to plan more for any weekend days you are in the parks).

Thanks, that's really useful. I'll add that to my planner that I'm doing. :o

Hi can anyone give me advice on Disneyland Paris - we have been before but only stayed onsite in the disney hotels - now this year as the disney deals are not that great we're contemplating buying annual passes and staying in Val d'europe, can anyone recommend any places to stay here - i've checked some hotels and apartments - and tbh like the idea of an apartment in the evening when we've come back and for breakfast as our kids are young and quite picky?

I have checked reviews for adaigo apartments ( but they are so mixed ) and the hotel d'elysse ( sorry about sp ) is there any places in this area that people would recommend first hand!

    Thanks

how about the Marriott villas? I've heard nothing but good reviews from families who have stayed there. I believe sometimes you can pick up decent prices for the villas on ebay.

    http://www.marriott.com/hotels/hotel-rooms/pardp-marriotts-village-dlle-de-france/

I can't recommend any apartments personally, there are usually only 2 of us so we stay in hotel rooms at DLP.

Going to dlp end of may and got it for £614 self drive but cost with the ferry, park tickets, breakfast etc staying in santa fe. Anyone know if thats a good price? It's for 2 adults, 3 kids - 8,5 and 1 staying 3 nights 4 days.
Also, on a different note, just checked my passport and under place of birth it says BACHE. I was born in chester. Does anyone know what the BA part is all about? Thanks :)
  • Hi i know this is totally down to personal preference, but roughly how much spending money will i need for 4nights 5 days? Just so i take enough to feed 2 adults and 2 young kids. 7 and 4. Obviously we will want to buy them a few bits. Also any recommendations on reasonably priced places to eat while there.?
    Thanks in advance
