thats the Cheyenne I think - you'll get good onsite hotel prices in low season from January through to end of March every year, and all kids under 12 go free at this time of year too.

Because I'm a bit thick (well alot) how do I go about getting the DLP shares? Or rather, just looking for some advice from people on here who've got them about what they did? And also, if I get them this week, will the club membership be cleared in time for our trip in January?

    Jx
And it looks like we made it once again
Yes it looks like we made it to the end

the easiest way to do it is -

open a Halifax online sharedealing account,

deposit £100 (you can withdraw the balance of this once you've bought your shares)

buy either 5 shares (to join the shareholders club but pay Eurodisney a 30 euro admin fee every 2 years to join), or 20 shares to avoid paying the admin fee when you join the shareholders club. Here are the shares you need -

    http://www.digitallook.com/companyresearch/25188/Euro_Disney_S.C.A./share_prices.html

buy them on a Friday, because at the moment while the Rugby World Cup is on, Halifax are only charging £5 buyers fee on Fridays (they usually charge at least £12)

print off your contract note, fill in the Eurodisney shareholders club application, print that off, and send it away to the shareholders club.
They will in due course send you a shiny shareholders card. It usually takes no more than about 6 weeks from the time you send your application and contract note to them, until your shareholders card comes to your home address :). You can use the card as soon as you receive it.

Thanks Balletshoes, as ever! Check with me that I've understood you though. Five shares (current price 4.70 euros each), plus 30 euros admin, which once converted comes to £45.94. Or Twenty shares to avoid paying the admin fee, which, once converted comes to £80.73. Which looks like a no brainer to me, but I would have thought the two prices would have been closer than this. Have I done the sums incorrectly do you think?

you have your £5 buying fee at the Halifax to add to each of those calculations, but apart from that, you've got it right.

Yes, of course, that as well. But how odd that there's such a disparity in the figures. Why go for the 20 shares at £85 (with fee) when you can get the five shares, with the admin fee, for £50? Other than the hope that your shares would increase in value, but they'd surely have to increase a hell of a lot to cover that margin. I just keep thinking I've missed something. :o

well the long term way to look at it is, with the 20 shares, yes your initial outlay is more, but you don't ever have to pay the 30 euros admin fee for the shareholders club. If you have 5 shares, you have to pay 30 euros every 2 years to renew your membership. So even if the shares stayed the same value as they are now, within 4 years you've more or less paid the same with 5 shares and the 2x30 euro admin fees, and within 6 years your 20 shares have actually cost you less than the 5 shares plus the 3x30 euro admin fees.

The shares have been about twice that recently.
So if you sell the twenty shares in a couple of years time, and they have doubled, you'll get £170 back.
Or just £42 for the five, and still be down the admin fee.

Of course, they could go down further as well.
