  • Has nobody ever travelled in a large group for Disney???

Anyone used Disney Express? Is it worth the £17 extra?
  • I've been reading over this thread for the past couple of days and I want to say a big thank you to you all, you've given me so much food for thought, however, I wonder if you could help me a little further!!

    I'm planning/organising a trip to Disneyland Paris for 5th - 9th September 2011 (I know :p I'm really not giving myself that much time!)

It's for 2 adults, on a semi budget - but I'm unsure of trying to book things separately or go for a package deal.

Though in fairness, most of the package deals and ridiculously expensive, £700+ and that's not even including travel.

My Dad's given me access to his BA Miles - but I'm at a semi loss, as to fly, then get the shuttle bus from the airport...or go on the eurostar..

If you could give me anyyyyy advice - I'd love you all a lot more!!

Hi we've just come back from France and our trip to Disney. Thanks for all the tips, thought it was worth giving a little summary of our trip:

We drove via EuroTunnel with Tesco Vouchers
Stayed in a Gite in Champagne for a week - 40mins drive to Disney.
Ordered tickets via the french ticket agency FNAC - picked them up from a nearby Carrefour supermarket, no problems.
Were concerned it would be busy with long queues as is school hols - but was totally fine, with rides first thing, get fast passes for rides later on and then shows in the afternoon, few more rides in the evening.

Visited Disney Park on Tuesday, got there at 9am, parked in Disney Village car park - very easy and so close! had to exchange tickets for ones you swipe through the turnstiles, in park by 9:30am. Although official opening time is 10am - get to Disneyland Park early - they let you into the Main Street at 9:30am where the shops are already open and then cast members let you into each of the lands at 10am. By 10:30am we'd already been on It's a Small World (lovely) and Peter Pan (:( Jerky, too dark to see any of the PEter Pan scenes), and were in the Labyrinth, then did Storybook Boats. Petit Train (good spot round there for meeting disney characters), got fast pass for Buzz LAsers, ate picnic lunch whilst watching Disney Express show, afternoon did shopping, Buzz Lasers, (Keel Boats were shut), Peter Pan Show, Pochontas Playground, then went to Disney Village for dinner in Rain Forest Cafe. Back into Disney Park for Parade, Mickey's Magic Show, Fantillusion and Fireworks!

On Thursday - had 1 day 2 park tickets so we could do the Studios, but also go back to Disney in the evening. We arrived at the Studios - again easy to exchange tickets for swipe ones. The Studios don't let people through until 10am, unlike Disneyland Park. But still worth getting there a little early to be one of the first in the queues - really gives a head start on rides! Got fast pass for Hollywood Hotel, Straight on Studio Tram Tour - fab, then Slinky Dog, hubby then went on Hollywood Hotel, met Mickey, got fast passes for Flying Carpets, Playhouse Disney Show, ate picnic lunch on bench, Flying Carpets, Moteur Show - fab, Cinemagic, Animague, Stars n Cars Parade (good, much shorter than Disney Parade finishes with performance in the circle), Dinner at MacDonald's in the Village (no vegy options & ran out of ice cream!), then back into Disney Park, Autopedia, shopping, explored Fort, Pirate Cove, Pirate Beach, Snow White (not great ride), Small World and then the Disney Train to take us back up to the end. Really surprised how much we managed to do at such a busy time of year!

okay well for 5 days park access you're looking at the cost of an annual pass each as your cheapest park tickets, so thats 149 euros each for the fantasy passes, or 199 euros each for a dream pass.

so if you go for the fantasy passes (which give you no access to extra magic hours) thats 300 euros spent, and you then need your hotel for 4 nights. You won't get a Disney hotel at room only for less than £100 per night (their room only prices are ridiculous) so you should look for prices for the associated hotels (Kyriad, Magic Circus, Dream Castle, Explorers or L'elysee val d'Europe) on the likes of travelrepublic, alpharooms, their own websites, Expedia etc. If you choose the L'elysee val d'europe you do get access to Extra Magic Hours, but its a little further away than the others from the resort, so you'd need to be a bit more organised in the mornings.

If your Dad is covering the full cost of travel for you, you're better going by Eurostar, as you arrive right at the gates of DLP, no transfers to hotel needed :).

sounds like you had a lovely trip :T
  • I'm fortunate in that I live 10 minutes from the Channel Tunnel. I've driven to Disney four times and it has been really easy and straightforward every time.

I've also found that they don't seem to put the prices up at February half term.

Just wondered if anyone has ever travelled in a large group to Disneyland Paris and know any good companies that specialise in this? I've emailed one company that were recommended by Disney, think they were called great days? Just wondered if abybe know any others?

Also has anyone ever done a group booking with eurostar?

I'm hoping to go for my hen party in June next year and will be travelling in a group of between 16 and 22.
